New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I paid via credit card. I think its the fastest and cheapest way. I only wrote the CC details on section 6. After about 1 hour they emailed my eCoE already. :)

Good evening Nurses :):):)

I feel so overwhelmed while reading your recent posts here, more about BP, Visa and more about Aussie dream.:bowingpur:bowingpur I am more inspired to keep on praying and believing that i could be like you guys.. So, for others (including me:dncgbby:) who are still waiting for Eligibility, Good look and God bless.. :dncgcpd:

But wait, there's more :rotfl::rotfl:

anyone here who is a RN in New Mexico, where or how did you get you verification request form? i tried to check their site yet the form states that

"WE DO NOT VERIFY RN/LPN LICENSURE TO OTHER BOARDS OF NURSING OR TO PRIVATE ENTITIES.

YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF STATE BOARDS OF NURSING (NCSBN) AT

this is the only doc that im still lacking to pass in ahpra..

Hope guys you can help me with my query...:(:(:(

Thank you so much

Simple Solution: Read the capitalized instruction you have written above... then follow said instruction (it says go to www.nursys.com and make your license verification request there).

Follow said instruction = problem solved..

Hello! Do i still have to take bridging courses in Australia if I'm already taking a bridging program for internationally educated nurses here in Canada? If I'd be able to get my Canadian RN license here, do i have to undergo bridging there? Thank you!

the last time i checked, these are the basic rules to avoid undergoing BP in Australia:

1) Your BSN degree diploma must be: UK, Canada, South African, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hongkong (not Philippines BSN degree). Query, are you or will you later on have a Canadian BSN diploma or not?

2) Just because you are a Canada RN or UK RN, if your BSN degree is from the Philippines then you must undergo BP..

Few years back, if a Filipino RN is an NCLEX passer or meaning a U.S. RN, he will be able to "endorse" his license to Australia and received his Aus.RN license without undergoing BP, meaning, he just have to send the needed documents, relax watch tv at home, after 2 weeks, check the website list of RNs and his name will be there as RN, then another 2 weeks, will receive the hot crispy copy of his Aus. RN license.. no sweat...

that was before.. not now..

I'm considering ETEA now to take my BP. It's quite expensive though but its a good choice i guess. When will your BP commence Mhai? And if you dont mind, can I ask how I apply BP in their institution?

Our class starts on Oct3...=) You just visit their website which you can google, then look for the IRCON course.. They have contact details to which you can ask them about the process for application...=) God bless!

Good morning nurses especially to Cioman94,,;):)

yes sir i did read on that website and follow its instruction, however in the middle of my reading, there is a note says (Nursys.com)

"Currently, Nursys® is only available to boards of nursing located in the United States and its territories. Please contact your board to request verification."

So, i just sent my BON-New Mexico a letter of Inquiry regarding my Verification Request Form. It is been almost a week that im waiting for their reply.

I tried to post my query here, hoping someone had a problem before about this, then i could just ask how did they request a form.

Anyway, Thank you for the suggestions sir.:nurse::nurse::nurse:

God bless you

Well, you are partly correct there actually. If the credit card you used is denominated in Australian dollars, then that should be the cheapest. There are no hidden charges and no exchange rate differences.

I did some research and here are my findings:

1. As I said, paying in Aus dollar denominated CC is the fastest, cheapest, and therefore the best. If you have a relative in Australia who will pay for it there, then go for it. Provided, you will eventually pay also in Aus $ once you find a job.

2. Beware of the exchange rate differences when paying either through CC or TT. Do your research and ask your CC company or your bank about this.

I don't know how it works on US dollar denominated CC issued by banks based in the US but here in the Philippines, some banks and CC companies are unscrupulous. There is this bank M that converts the Aus $ to Phil Peso first and then converts the Peso equivalent to US $ when they charge you either in your CC or TT. And their conversion rates are very expensive!!! It's better for you to deal with your friendly neighborhood money changers.

There is also bank B that converts the Aus $ to US $ directly. This is assuming you are using their US $ denominated CC. You can now pay them in US $ also once the bill falls due. You can now scout for cheap US $ either from them or from your friendly neighborhood money changer.

When I compared the difference between bank M and bank B, the latter was cheaper by almost US $150.00. That's a lot considering I'm on a tight budget!!!

3. Since I didn't ask my Australian relative to pay using her CC, I sent my payment through TT via Bank B. This third option which I deemed best and, therefore, did was to send payment through TT. There were no hidden charges. The conversion rate between Aus $ to US $ was straightforward based on the prevailing rate for the day. You can now choose to canvass different money changers for the cheapest US $.

Paying through CC, for me, is kind of risky. You never know when the exchange rate will be once you get your CC bill. If you are trying to skrimp a few dollars here and there, paying in cash and sending through TT is the best way to go. ;)

my apologies.......

1) pray that BON OLD MEHICO will reply to your query and hope they understand that you are requesting it for Aussie and not for USA..

2) do they have a landline, better make a call, errr, expensive....

3) if nothing happens, final solution is this: execute an affidavit or in Oz it is called "statutory declaration" saying/explaining the following:

- that the BON OLD MEHICO do not issue this and that.....etc.

- that BON OLD MEHICO as per their website, explicitly write that the "license/certification" is updated daily and would show if an RN is suspended blah blah or no problems..

- that this and that..

- that I, super kikay, to the best of my knowledge has no pending case, complaints blah lblah at BON OLD MEHICO..

so, such statutory declaration/affidavit shoud be signed by you and notarized.. this is the next best thing you can do if you could not get that verification thing... and of course pray... better prepare a draft of your affidavit while waiting for the ahpra email to you, so that by the time it is needed then you just have to notarized and send it.. you can scan the affidavit and email it as part of your reply and say that the original copy to follow..
