Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I was already interviewed by IHNA earlier. My God, they threw hard questions to me. I dont know if I am accepted in their institution for BP.. Since i didnt answer some of the questions well with regards to the different diseases of patients. Are there any instances that they wont accept you coz u messed up in their interview? And also, can you recommend GOOD schools which offers BP?
Hmm that's weird. I was interviewed but I don't remember having been asked about diseases and stuff. But no worries mate, you'll be accepted. Most that get interviewed do; unless one can't speak a tad of english at all. At least that's what I think. Cheers!
HI everyone;I have been accepted in LTU for its Jan 2012 intake, but I am quite interested in IHNA or AAON too. To those in the know, does IHNA have any hospital affiliations? I remember RYAN (Deakin) , who recommended to us in this thread last year to go for VCHN or ETEA. ETEA's price is out of my League. any inputs on this?
Hello. When did you apply at LTU? I also applied there via idp manila but umtil now idp has no news for me. Ugh! My bp is shooting up as i am targeting jan 2012 intake.

Hey bellaire, thanks for the reply. I do hope I will be given offer letter from the school. I was expecting an Aussie will interview me but then I was interviewed by an Indian. I was just quite surprised that they have institution in India. How many days did you wait before you received the offer letter?

No they don't have an institution in India - they have a recruiting office there instead. The school is owned by an Indian so that is why they have an office in India and the one who interviewed you was Indian.

Oh.. Thanks for the info. By the way, how many days did you wait before you receive offer letter from IHNA? And how will I know if I am accepted in their institution?

If I remember it correctly, I got the letter of offer a day after the interview. You will know that you got accepted when you receive the offer letter mate. You could give them a ring and ask them to send it to you if they haven't already.

Thanks mate. If you don't mind, can I ask about your status now? Did you finish your BP already? Are you currently working right now?

Yes, the interview matters a lot.... I have friends who were not able to pass the interview and were not accepted... On my part, I passed the interview but due to numerous number of applicants, I was not given a slot for this year in IHNA.... But, keep your hopes up and keep praying... God bless!=)

Right on! A friend of mine who had her BP there told me that the school prefers Indian students as well since they tend to avail of their package which includes accommodation... It's quite expensive actually...
