New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

i will start my job as an RN in a public hospital in sydney on monday and still the australian embassy in manila still hasn't released my passport with 457 visa label! i still haven't gone to po to get an overseas employment certificate and i still haven't booked a plane ticket! this is so stressful!

just ask for extension from the hospital, it is more tedious for them to kick you and look for another rn and process 457 again, they will wait.. congrats... count your blessings... pay forward..

hello cioman94!

I got 4 employers before, can anyone of them sign my CV or all of them? Yes, i sent all my certificate of my hospital training with all duly signed by my employer, however it was just a certified copies since if il send my original copies i wont have my own copy for the future. Is it ok?

Fortunately, my request for my theoritical units (with HOURS) has been granted by my school, so il just send it as soon as il receive it.

Thank you God!:saint:

Thank you so much cioman for your response :nurse:

can anyone answer makikay's query please... i cant give accurate answer on this... thank you...

hey guys, just want to ask, provided that i have an all 7 IELTS score, do i still need 2 years experience to be able to take BP? :)

sir joiemike, I read in your previous post that you received an offer letter from AAON, why didn't you push through with your bp there? :)

Simply because they didn't give me a slot for the sept intake. They gave me an email informing me that I can get in the intake and yet, the following week, they asked me to apply for the Jan intake instead. Then, I received a letter of offer for the Oct intake at ETEA, so I took it. :D

AAON means?

It's Australian Academy of Nursing, I think. It's affiliated with UB (i.e. Uni of Ballarat). :D

You don't need to. Most bp schools require 1 year like ETEA. But others, I heard just recently, that they require 2 years like IHNA (formerly VCHN).

As I said previously, it's better to have work experience. The longer, the better. Specialty area like OR, ER, ICU will really, really help. This will definitely come in handy during your job hunting. You can have a huge edge against other job applicants. Prospective employers will, definitely, give your application a second, third, or even fourth look. :yeah:

:nmbrn:

Hi everyone! I am a newbie here. I would just like to clarify some things. After reading this thread and other links, I have listed the following to be the documents required by APHRA to be eligible for the BP program:

- Valid PRC ID

- Nursing Certificate and Board Rating

- Certificate of Employment

- Certified Copy of Diploma

- Certified Copy of TOR w/ RLE

- Training and Workshop Certificates

- Certified Copy of Birth Certificate

- Certfified Copy of Passport

- Certified Copy of NBI Clearance

- Certified Copy of Good Standing

- Curriculum Vitae

- IELTS result

My questions are:

1. Do I miss anything?

2. Do I need to get these requirements from my nursing school and PRC and send it to APHRA OR do I need to make arrangements with PRC, my nursing school and IELTS to send the required documents to APHRA?

I still have to take my IELTS before I could send my application but am setting a timeline for completing the required documents. I'm planning to enroll in a review center for my IELTS and hopefully I had completed the requirements by the time I get at least 7 in all bands (hahaha...:uhoh3::eek::uhoh3:). Just being positive as I find the entire process frustrating from the requirements to BP hunting, not to mention the waiting time. I've been reading this thread for weeks and grasping things step-by-step. Thanks for your reply! =)

Hi! I'm also processing all the necessary documents right now. I really don't know what to do next...big thing there's this thread that can help me

.all these documents that you've mentioned need DFA authentication for it to be accepted by AHPRA right?

a big thanks

ahhh really? guess i'll have to extend my volunteer work experience. haha! thanks!

I visited an agency telling me that i could apply without IELTS -but just with proof that i was taught and assessed in english in secondary school, with just 3 months experience (but at the back of my head i'm thinking it's not true --is it?), that i could enroll at LA trobe, VCHN, etc. huh! they really are trying to convince me, but hey i ain't got money to burn! haha!

No DFA certification. That red ribbon thingy is for NZNC and not to AHPRA.

Orig Cert of Good Standing from PRC. And it has to be sent from PRC direct to AHPRA.

Please follow the AHPRA instructions on how to certify documents as true copies. It's plainly written in their website.

It's only your IELTS Test Report Form and the PRC good standing that are original. The rest are cert true copies.

No PRC ID. Only PRC License (i.e. That Diploma looking cert.)

Your school records including the BS Nursing Diploma should all be written or translated in English. Other schools may be written in another language so there has to be an english translation.

The cert true copies of your TOR including RLE should include course description, number of hours lecture and clinical placements (RLE). If you are a 2nd courser, it's best to include the TOR and course description of your previous course. My assessment got delayed because of this. :crying2:

NBI and birth certificate are not required but you can include these in the application if you like. Make sure to include a marriage certificate if you are "double" :lol2:.

For a more detailed and accurate list, it's best to review the AHPRA application form again just to be sure. There might be changes in the requirements since I applied last December.

can anyone answer makikay's query please... i cant give accurate answer on this... thank you...

Thank you for that kind and honest reply cioman94.

While i was scanning my docs including the standard format for CV and i read the later note that says " Some Boards require that the CV is also signed by your MOST recent employer in relation to employment with that employer. You will need to check the application form to confirm specific requirements of your National Board."

And that answers my question :lol2:

But which part in your CV you let your employer signed?
