Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
hi there fish... hope this info could help you...i am a registered nurse here in philippines, and i applied an EN application to ahpra. when i got my eligibility letter it says there application for registration as EN, then i started reading this thread (Good for me) and came to know that I should have applied my assessment as RN not EN. I was so deppressed knowing i made a big mistake, what i did is, I wrote to my case officer asking her if i could have an RN assessment instead of EN. That it was my mistake not to know the difference between RN and EN, i asked her if she could give me more options on what to do in my situation.. I dont want to wait again for 9 mos for my eligibility letter.
then... God is so good,, she replied I assessed your document as RN...and she send me another Eligibility letter stating Application for registration as RN. Maybe you could do the same so that you dont have to re apply again. well just sharing my story... Goodluck!!!
hmmmm, with God's blessing to you, it's a good time to start paying forward by helping others/newbies here in this thread.... its a long journey yet, need more God's blessings along the way...
Haiyour inforfation are valid .Thank u very much .Please tell me this year I can get any seat for BP .Money not matter. Please help.thanks
money does not matter.... it's BP availability and school's decision whether to accept you or not, that will matter most.. now way we can say when you can have your BP, im not surprised if you will have it 12 mos. later, it happened to many of the members here..
Hi. I'm sure you can exit the Philippines without an OEC. You will have to pay the terminal fee of P750 and ?P200 Travel tax (not sure about this one-I've got OZ PR status). What you will miss out is the OWWA membership and Philhealth. Have you tried their online service? Check the webpage below.http://www.citizenservices.com.ph/poea/ofw-overseas-exit-clearance/
If a Filipino Citizen exits the Philippines under a "work visa", he/she needs OEC at the Phil. airport...
hello bobby! thank you for your reply. how were you able to say i can exit phil without oec?in my 457 visa label it says "temporary resident" (whoohoooh!!!), it doesn't even say business long stay visa. if phil immigration officer questions me why i don't have an oec, can i just tell that i'm a temporary resident and then i'm off to sydney (hopefully wishing)?
i phoned poea twice.
the first said i don't need oec for business long stay visa / temporary resident visa bec oec are for contractual workers..
the second said i need it because although i'm a temporary resident, my primary purpose is to go there and work. also, nsw health didn't give me a contract, i only have position description and job offer letter.
hope i can be enlightened on this one. :)
get OEC.. i wrote a long speech on this matter in this thread, not just once by 2-3x..
hello everyone. Now i have some queries regarding the documents i sent last July.
1. I send my CV, however there were no signature of my employer.
Do i need to make another one that has a signature and send it to ahpra? Or
il just wait for them to email me if they need it?
2. After sending my application with my documents, my registration officer emailed
me that she received my application. And she asked me to send my course outline and my theoretical and clinical units. (she mentioned only Units, is hours included with that?)
I asked my school registrar if they can procure me a theoretical and clinical units,
but they told me that all those things can be found in my TOR , so what i did i just
send another TOR plus my RLE with a note above that all my theoretical and clinical units are included there. Do you think what i did is ok?
Happy Sunday to everyone :dncgcpd:
Thank you so much
1) i assume you also send a separate "certification of employment" duly signed by your employer... in this case, just wait for AHPRA's feedback... in the meantime, you may try to get a CV with employer's signature, if you can do so..
2) TOR has "units", but most TOR does not show "number of hours of classroom/theory lecture".. now, do you reckon your TOR has that "hours" i mentioned? if not, then it does not comply with AHPRA's requirement.
AHPRA wants "course description" for each nursing subjects, these information usually could be found in a document so-called as "syllabus"..
RLE which is known here as "clinical", would show the number of hours of your "clinical" exposure.. I believe you sent the correct RLE, no worries..
The way i see it, AHPRA may still contact you for information you did not supply or your registrar failed to supply (i.e. no. of hours of classroom lecture).. So, recheck your documents, did it comply as what I described above?
Good luck...
To others who will or gone through CON, please answer the questions.... thanks....my initial answers are:
1) what do you mean by "another" shot? meaning you had a shot when you were a baby or when you are an adult? if you are referring that when you were a baby, then, you must get an adult shot..
2) MMR, there is an adult vaccs for this...
3) Varicella, i had MD certification that i had chickenjoy before...
Hi! Are we allowed to get our shots in a hospital/clinic of our choice? or are we supposed to get it somewhere specific? :)

hello cioman94!
I got 4 employers before, can anyone of them sign my CV or all of them? Yes, i sent all my certificate of my hospital training with all duly signed by my employer, however it was just a certified copies since if il send my original copies i wont have my own copy for the future. Is it ok?
Fortunately, my request for my theoritical units (with HOURS) has been granted by my school, so il just send it as soon as il receive it.
Thank you God!
Thank you so much cioman for your response
