New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hello, so what happened when you sent your CV? did you let your employers sign it or did APHRA gave you an eligibility even thou your CV was not signed by your employer (would that be possible??..hehehe) Thanks in advance :)

in addition to my earlier post, how can you not let your employer sign your CV and how will they not find out that you are applying to Australia?

correct me if im wrong but isnt it that AHPRA requires the employer to directly send your statement of service to their office?

thats great! how do we apply for this? im having a difficult time finding their application form... i think it takes 3 months to process a student visa... and are there complications in students visas when attempting PR application? thnx....

look for the 575 visa application form.

student visa application for non-award course is faster.:yeah:

in regards to PR, im sorry but i still dont have any knowledge about this

Hi guys! Newbie here, excuse my ignorance in navigating around here. Just found this forum today but I'm glad I did. :) If I may ask, what's the difference between an EN and a RN? If I want to apply for a BP in Aus, what should I apply for? EN or RN? Thanks!

Hi. EN is for Enrolled Nurse. It's a vocational course, about 18 months to complete. Works with an RN in performing almost the same things but get paid less. RN is obviously for registered nurse, a bachelor's degree program. It takes 3 years here to do but takes 4 there.

You should apply for RN. Agencies will tell you to apply for EN because it's easier, shorter, no IELTS required..blah..blah...blah. BUT EN is not on the SOL (shortage occupation list) therefore will not qualify for work visa.

Tell your friends who are thinking of going to Australia to visit this website. You get to find other Filipinos who have the same aspirations. Good luck.

NEED HELP FOR A PLACE TO STAY!

Hi guys,

I still am looking for a place to stay near ETEA in Heidelberg. Initially found one just across the street from the school. But when my niece went there to check it for me yesterday, there was no bed!!! The Chinese landlord told her that I have to bring my own bed...huh??? :uhoh3: The rent was expensive at $150/week and the room had no furniture. It was old, dirty, and dingy. Actually found this one in gumtree. There was supposed to be another one but the poster did not reply to my or her email.

Hmmmm. Is it possible that I can go camping near the school? Hahahha. I'm starting to run out of time.

Is this the one you looked at?

you better request now at PRC your Good standing since 1 week or more is the waiting time for your docs. If all your docs (exluding the good standing and ielts result) together with your application is ready send it immediately. Once your good standing is alrdy available you can let your prc send it. anway, only prc and your ielts result need to be submitted from the main office to AHPRA, excluding your school papers, if im not mistaken.

13 weeks with an entry exit option in the 8th or 9th week if we perform well. :D

la trobe requires a student visa since IRON falls under the CRICOS course.

yes it is more expensive but come to think of it, the tuition is cheaper compared to other schools and also, with the student visa, we can do partime work. i just dont know if we have that luxury though since BP is an 8hour per day program :lol2: but who knows right?

I do not know La Trobe IRON course has an early exit option, anyways thank you I'll try to confirm this tomorrow. I'm hoping I can get a slot for January, it doesn't matter now which school I'll be enrolling . So far IHNA,ACFE and La trobe are among the schools that will conduct BP this January. I'll certainly pick La Trobe if it has an early exit option.
