Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hello peeps,if you have a 456 visa, do you need to have a round trip (two-way) ticket back home even if you are planning to extend or apply for a different visa after your bp?
are the immigration officers in australia strict when it comes to this?
thanx :)
God bless to those who will be having their September and October intakes!
It really is a case to case basis depending on which immigration officer will check your papers upon entry. My niece was not asked about her return ticket last year even though she had one.
I checked the format, it says current and previous positions should be included in the CV.Anyway I replied to your pm. :)
really? can you give me the site of that format since i checked it just now and the last part says that " Some Boards require that the CV is also signed by your MOST recent employer in relation to employment with that employer. You will need to check the application form to confirm specific requirements of your National Board."..
i am not sure too if this is right, hope i can check the format you read too..
Thank you

thanks again sir. :) Are you ready for your intake? What books are you pre-reading for the intake? Do we have Australian books here in the Philippines regarding Nursing?
Hi guys. last time I had a concern about my certificate of good standing. PRC sent my certificate 3 or 4 months ago and I just lodged my application to AHPRA 1st week of September. I emailed AHPRA regarding this and it's good to know that they are keeping the files and I don't have to request for a new one. And I also asked them about the payment if I need to pay including the registration fee. And they said it's okay to pay the registration fee after the registration is successful, so I only charged 335AUD instead of 450AUD.

Woooowwww. You're that serious in preparation? I'm not preparing at all. I hope I can rely on my stock knowledge and not "stuck-up" knowledge. And, besides, the school just told me that requirements and expectations will be given to us during the 1st day of classes.

not really sir. haven't opened ang single book yet!
besides there are still so many things to do. the toll of accomplishing all of the needed requirements for visa and bp provider application really takes a lot of your time and energy.
hello. these are my questions1. if you're done with the BP after 3 mos., are you required to go back to phil?
2. is it not possible to stay there until you get your OZ license then finally find a job?
TIA
depends on your visa.. check the expiry of your visa.. 456 visa allows you to stay 3mos. then must go home, if multiple 456 visa, then okey to go home and be back again, expensive though.. other option if your 456 expires is to apply for tourist visa to be allowed to stay....
in any country, remember the basic rule.... you cannot stay in a country if you do not have a valid visa, so know and obtain a visa.... for australia, read DIAC website for detials of the visa rules..
by the way, read the page 1 of this thread pls.. cheers!

my personal general advice:
1)- review and study the basice nursing stuff, which you can do by simply using the nursing review books like gapuz,bersabe,balita.... just read review them hence you will "re-establish" your stock knowledge...
2)- you must and as in must master drug calculations... no excuses, you must be excellent in drug calc...
the rest of the topics are pure australian subjects which you could only learn during BP..(unless you have australian books)..
but the reality is you do not have access of those aussie books.. thus, just focus on no. 1 and 2 above, in that way, during BP you will just have to cope with Aussie topics (because you have already reviewed no. 1 and 2)..
thatz all you can do for now considering your limited resources or access to aussie books.. but no worries you will be alright, a friend of mine survived, you can too..
