Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Really? When did you send your application? I sent mine 3 weeks ago via IDP Manila. LTU acknowledged the receipt of my application last August 25. I received an auto generated email providing the username and pw to access the Student Portal so that I can track my application. Up to now, my application is still being reviewed by the case managerRe accommodation, I am very much interested.
I really hope I'll get a positive response from them soon:lol2:
Hi!
I sent my application at the first week of August. They were all hardcopies but was scanned by IDP and eventually e-mailed them to LTU.
I hope you can make it thru. I can be a very good classmate!
that fast?I thought you attended CON for your BP?
Yeah, CON was really my first choice. But then it was too late...
The applications closed around the 2nd week of July and I haven't paid them yet.
My application at IDP-Cebu was immediately e-mailed on that same afternoon after scanning.
I requested the officer to send it as fast as possible as BP schools at the time were becoming extinct!
My request was granted anyway.
To those who are enrolled already, I would be very glad to communicate with you regarding accomodation and flight to Au.
To Ceridwyn, and to those who have been granted a Subclass 457- Long Stay Visa/ or to those who have knowledge:How long(like weeks) is the processing time from step 1 until being granted?
Thanks very much!
Hi. I just googled that one for you and it's 2 months. I think you can apply for a bridging visa if you will just be waiting for your 457. Once you do get your 457 after 1 year service with the same company(but again depends on the company and how 'valuable' you make yourself become for them), you can apply for your PR. If you have all your docs that will only take you 2 weeks.
May I suggest you start a different thread so you might get more responses. Most of the forumers here are RNs wanting to go to Australia - usually on a student or visitor's visa and not a 457.
the 457 visa is the type of visa that your employer will be sponsoring you for work, am i right?? so if it take two months for that to be processed, that means... you'll be staying in AU for the entire two months doing nothing and just waiting until you get the visa??? That sure is a long time or waiting and a huge amount of money to be spent.... =(
Mhai thanks for replying. I have read in the application form that I need to attach a certificate of Good Standing or a certificate of registration status together with the application form. So it means I have to request 2? one to be sent directly to AHPRA and one attached in my application form?

are you sure it says it needs to be attached?? what i did and what most people in this forum did was to have the PRC send it directly to AHPRA... I didn't attach it to the application form... I'm not sure if anything has changed...
