Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
Yes, I passed the complete set of requirements first week of August. I already asked my agent for update and what she told me was she also received the confirmation of the receipt of docs from LTU 2nd week of August and after that she has not received any e-mail. Princessblush said she received the offer letter a week after sending the docs through e-mail, that is why I'm quite disappointed about the progress of my application. Tsk. I should have done it on my own:confused:
I reckon it best to really try to do it on our own whether it be dealing with AHPRA, applying for bp, applying for visa, etc. The advantage is you will not be at the mercy of an agent for following up with the office you are dealing with. And besides, the different government agencies and companies in Australia are accommodating enough to entertain inquiries and follow-ups. I understand some of us don't have the confidence, time, patience, guts to do things on our own. But we are all adults here and we should start learning to fend for ourselves. Just treat this as a practice session come the time we leave for another country to work there. We cannot hide behind the coat-tails of other people like our parents, spouses, relatives, friends, or agents always. For as long as we just follow the right procedures and not bend rules, everything almost always will work out fine. My 23 y.o. niece did it on her own, there's no way we can't do it too.
While I had my medicals, there was this RN that also had hers. She is going to HPH in Perth. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this a new hospital and BP program from HPH? From what I know HPH is based in Melbourne or Sydney. Anyway, she told me she is going there for the bp because the tuition is only $4,000.00 (this is correct for sure). So there are 2 HPH's conducting bp already? A colleague of mine who is still waiting for her AHPRA letter also told me she is applying at Perth because of HPH's cheaper bp tuition there. Can someone validate this for the benefit of other forumers?
2 or 3 years ago, one of our nurse friends went there but the BP was much much cheaper. I think almost 2k AUD but she already mentioned before Hollywood Private Hospital is in Perth. I think HPH is connected or affiliated with Ramsay Health Care which is one of the famous Health Care Providers in Australia. Ramsay Health Care have other branches in Australia. I am not 100% sure so just check the information online cos I did say I THINK. Sorry, I'm not helpful in this area cos I don't even know where to take my BP yet, have to comply with my IELTS first so I can have more choices. Okey, now one thing for everyone for sure TAKE YOURS IELTS BEFORE STARTING ANYTHING COS ONCE YOU GET YOUR ELIGIBILITY LETTER TIMES STARTS COUNTING.. :) Good luck everyone. :)
@joiemike here a website you might want to check:

****** is in charge of HPH BP Program and you need all 7 in all IELTS component.
By the way everyone please post how much the tuition fees are in other schools. For example: ETEA= 14k AUD
I just received my eligibility letter from APHRA NT after 10 long months. Finally I can now move on with the BP program. Good luck to those who are still waiting APHRA's approval ,I hope you receive yours shorter than mine.:D:rolleyes:
congratulations ! which school do you plan to go to?

HPH is located only in Perth City, managed by Ramsay Healthcare Australia which has branches all over oz but in different hospital names and only HPH is offering the BP among other hospitals in Perth managed by Ramsay Healthcare. The girl you met heading for HPH is so so lucky enough to get into HPH bridging program, for they have a quota of 25 students only per intake twice a year, that's february and october, and last october they have a total of 187 applicants vying for the 25 slots available, whew! what a stiff competition knowing that PR and Citizens are mostly prioritized over other applicants.

Oh. Thank you for correcting my misconception. She was able to get in because her eligibility letter was released before AHPRA. So, I guess, she applied with HPH months ago. She asked for an extension for her deadline to undergo bp citing the economic recession (I don't know how she reasoned out. The Philippines has almost always been in constant recession - ). AHPRA granted her request. The problem is her IELTS has expired recently and she is taking the test soon. HPH is considerate enough that if she can't make it to the Oct intake, they will reserve a slot for her for the Feb schedule. Her credentials must be that impressive!!!

thank you jakey !
i'm planning to take mine at con burwood because i have relatives in sydney but i'm also planning to lodge an application to ltu and hph (there is no harm in trying) just in case i cannot get slot from con.
btw, i already asked hph if they consider volunteer experience, this was their reply to me:
hi *********,
thank you for your enquiry. please find attached information on our bridging course. yes we do consider volunteer experience in an acute hospital and we do recognise that filipinos have difficulties getting full time employment in their country. you must have a minimum of 12 months full time post graduate experience in the acute hospital setting.
kind regards,

question no 6. is your residential address the same as your principal place of practice/employment in australia?

question 11. what are the details of your qualifications and examinations/assessments?
(what will i suppose to write? does it include my ielts exam, bachelor's degree and secondary education? or just my registration as a nurse (prc) only?)
your help will be appreciated, as in! :)
