New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

re : mercy health

this is the email i got from mercy health just after i have confirmed my etea enrollment and paid for the tuition fee yesterday. i decided to share it with you all in the hope that you just might get my interview slot. i will inform them after this post that i have gotten in the oct intake of etea already. mercy health was really my first choice over etea. a lot cheaper tuition fee. their campus/hospital is, i think, in melbourne cbd. they have their own hospitals and nursing homes for the clinical placements. so, there is a big chance you can be hired by them after the bp. you just have to show your stuff during the lectures and clinicals that you are worth hiring...at least one foot is already in the door (so to speak). the downside though is that they don't have an early exit (i think). anyway, here is the email from ******. you can email her asap. she is very accommodating :

Processing at LTU is fast. It just took me 2 days for the offer letter and the when I sent them the offer acceptance form plus the total tuition fee deposit, I received the eCOE in just 3 days.

I suggest that you pay them immediately as soon as you are being offered a place for the course.

Really? When did you send your application? I sent mine 3 weeks ago via IDP Manila. LTU acknowledged the receipt of my application last August 25. I received an auto generated email providing the username and pw to access the Student Portal so that I can track my application. Up to now, my application is still being reviewed by the case manager

Re accommodation, I am very much interested. :D I really hope I'll get a positive response from them soon:lol2:

hello.. is this the address I will use if I send my docs by fedex or DHL?

Office Location

Level 1, 541 Hay Street

Subiaco WA 6008

1. Do you guys have any idea how many days will it take before they receive my mail?

2. Do I need to request from my employer for them to send an original copy of my employment certificate to AHPRA?

thanks in advance...

Hi netzkee.

That's the address I used for my application thru LBC, so I believe it's the same with fedex.

1. Less than a week :)

2. I think that's not necessary. Please refer to AG0S-04 to be sure. :redpinkhe

Good luck to us.

I also got an offer from La Trobe University too. But I'm still undecided to accept it since Bendigo is quite far from where my Aunt's house.

I'm still on the lookout for other schools with January intake.

How long did it take for you to get a reply from them after you have sent your application?:D When did you send your application? Thanks :D

I just received my eligibility letter from APHRA NT after 10 long months. Finally I can now move on with the BP program. Good luck to those who are still waiting APHRA's approval ,I hope you receive yours shorter than mine. :D:D:rolleyes:

Have you tried calling IDP for update? Do you have any idea when did they send your application at La Trobe? Keep in mind that, there is a difference between when you sent your application to IDP and when they sent your LTU's application.

Did you send all the requirements at once?

If the claim of the other poster is true then maybe IDP-Cebu is faster than IDP-Manila when it comes to processing because the lady from IDP Manila told me that it usually take 1 month for the offer letter to be received.

Hehehehe. Why do you have to separate the docs in 3 envelopes? Based on AHPRA's guidelines, it's only the PRC Certificate of Good Standing and the IELTS Test Report Form that need to be sent directly, office to office, separate from your other docs. When all your docs, including the PRC and IELTS papers, arrive in the AHPRA office, they will just be consolidated into one file anyway? I am wary that there might be a slim chance some docs might go somewhere else if you put them into 3 different, separate, manila envelopes.:heartbeat:redbeathe:redpinkhe

(Pardon the :heartbeat:redbeathe:redpinkhe beside the . My 4 yr old daughter is sitting beside me and insisted putting all the hearts because they're "pretty" and it means "love". Didn't mean to confuse you. :lol2::uhoh3::D)

thank you for responding joiemike.. it means alot! I'll be sending my documents today hope everything goes well. Tnx again.

BTW, please send my regards to your daughter.. These hearts are indeed pleasant to the eye! =)

Yes, I passed the complete set of requirements first week of August. I already asked my agent for update and what she told me was she also received the confirmation of the receipt of docs from LTU 2nd week of August and after that she has not received any e-mail. Princessblush said she received the offer letter a week after sending the docs through e-mail, that is why I'm quite disappointed about the progress of my application. Tsk. I should have done it on my own:confused:
