New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@NurseNathalie:

Where did you submit your application?

Specializes in Medical Surgical Ward.

I just found it Nathalie, you submitted your application @ AHPRA NSW.. Hope everything goes well for us. Prayers is our best weapon..

You don't have to dig for another buried treasure to apply this for this visa. You can use the same account/s when you applied for the 456. As far as I know, you need medicals (the one you had when you applied for the 456 will suffice), bank statements, passport. I can't recall all of it so please check the immigration website for the complete list of requirements. Cheers mate!

I just dont know if it goes the same when applying here in the UK...where can I ask about this medical thingy if I need one?

I'll prolly just ask my relative to support me on my visit visa after the 456, surely i dont have money left by then for my tuition fee and visa processing etc.

btw 456 doesn't need to have a "showmoney" right....???

thanks!:)

hi!

i believe that each ahpra state is different in terms of "letting" us know we're being assessed....:uhoh3:

in my case, on aug.19 i received the following email:

"receipt of your application for registration

:

dear ms xxxxx,

ahpra acknowledges receipt of your application for registration.

the application is currently being assessed and you will be notified if any further information is required.

once your application has been assessed and processed you will be advised of the outcome.

please do not respond to this auto-generated email"

no case manager´s name, no reference number.....:crying2: anyway, i'm grateful i´m being assessed and praying for a blessed assessment:yeah:

did you receive the eligibility letter on email as well??? just wondering if it goes the same with me:uhoh3:

@judfort: You must NOT have a 'no further stay' condition on your 456 visa to apply for the visit visa.

oh I see thank you so much for this info!

'no further stay' is this being ask in the application form?? pls elaborate more regarding this issue dont have clue yet regarding this conditions...and what about if i opt to choose the 'extension'? how many weeks/months would they prolly grant?

your knowledge on this matter would be a great help! :yeah:

TOPIC:

o Australian Immigration and Visas ( basic information )

o ANMC vs. AHPRA

As a registred nurse, you can stay/live/work in Australia under the following situations/visas:

1) As a tourist

2) As a student, or as a BP enrollee (to later be registered as nurse in Aus.)

3) As a sponsored employee via 457 (working) visa

4) As a PR/permanent resident via Skilled Migration scheme

5) As a PR via ENS/employer nomination scheme

6) As a PR via RSMS/regional sponsored migration scheme

For details of various visas, please check www.immi.gov.au ..

Australia wanted that all nurses who want to apply for migration are qualified/skilled, meaning they do not want to accept retarded nurses, for obvious reasons. So, if you want to apply for migration/PR, you need to pass through the ANMC which will disapprove/approve you by releasing a "clearance/assessment" that you are qualified/skilled.

ANMC does not issue nursing licenses..

AHPRA/NMBA is responsible for registration and regulation of nurses.. They do not care about your migration..

For nos. 1 - 3, you are NOT REQUIRED to pass through the office of ANMC.. BUT if you want, yes you can go through the ANMC and apply for "assessment", then after receiving your assessment, you present it together with other documents to AHPRA as you apply for registration.. In effect, you choose to deal with 2 govt. agencies..

For nos. 4 - 6, you MUST pass throught the office of ANMC because you will need the "clearance/assessment" as an attachment to your application for permanent residency..

Note:

Situation no. 1

- Example Mr. Haoyin will apply for permanent residency, he will pass through ANMC, but the process is cheaper, faster and easier because he already has an Australian RN license.. He does not have to worry because his "clearance/assessment" will definitely be released mainly because he is already an Aus. RN..

Situation no. 2

- Ms. Xyz who does not have an Aus. RN license, would apply for permanent residency, he will pass through the ANMC, but the process is more expensive, longer, and tedious (because you will have to submit many many many school documents).. After receiving ANMC clearance/assessment, and later if she is granted permanent residency, then she will arrive in Australia, well, she cannot yet work as a RN because she does not have Aus. RN license, she must apply at AHPRA and undergo BP..

Good luck..

QUESTION: If for example, you are an Au RN already and wanted to apply for permanent residency is IELTS being required?

...and some have degrees post grad BN's for international nurses that want straight in to registration after finsihing the course. This entry does not give a way out for a straight 7 in IELTs though, as this is a tested pathway now. An IELTS at straight 7 one sitting still needs to be sent to AHPRA before registration, even if your course provider did not require this to enrol in the course.

Can you please enumerate those universities that requires no ielts....?

is CON is of them? what about in Perth..?

well, look at the bright side, that's better than lost documents, ayt?! cheers mate...

HI judfort,

Definitely!!! Try to see the website of DIAC about their new points system for PR. It even gives higher points for higher IELTS scores.

You also have to submit your IELTS to AHPRA anyway. It's a minimum score of 7 in a ll bands. But mind you, the IELTS test result is good for only 2 years. I myself have to retake my IELTS because my previous one will expire 26 Sept 2011. Remember that your IELTS test result has to remain valid by the time you finish your BP. My bp will yet to start Oct 3 of this year so my previous IELTS test result would have been expired by the time I graduate from the program. AHPRA will require me to submit a new, valid, current IELTS test result before they would release my RN license.

I hope to be able to apply for PR within 2 years also. If not, I have to take the IELTS test again.:uhoh3:

But try and find out if you can get away through not taking the IELTS for AHPRA. There is one forumer here who insisted that there is another way. (Look for her previous posts about 1 or 2 months ago).

As for your question about any BP schools who would accept enrollment without the IELTS, I really don't know. One of the requirements for enrollment is a current, unexpired IELTS test result. But again, there was this forumer here who once said that CON accepted students from other countries like China, Nepal, etc. that didn't have IELTS. I'm skeptical though. Filipinos are definitely a lot better in English than the native Chinese, Nepalese, or any other South East Asians and we are required to take the IELTS.:lol2::lol2:

for million times i posted here, that nobody can escape IELTS..... even me, i have to re-take IELTS.... many times i post to say stop daydreaming... we will and we will go through the stormy sea of IELTS.... it's like tax, you pay tax when you are born, and even until you die you are still taxed.....
