New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

you can try ETEA, IHNA, AAON... those are the schools my friends applied for since they accept those without ielts as long as there is the AHPRA letter... also Castlemaine i think...

Thanks Mhai! :yelclap: :lttang:

for million times i posted here, that nobody can escape IELTS..... even me, i have to re-take IELTS.... many times i post to say stop daydreaming... we will and we will go through the stormy sea of IELTS.... it's like tax, you pay tax when you are born, and even until you die you are still taxed.....

let your post not be the reason for those who are dreaming to become Au RN who has the difficulty in achieving the 7scores in each subtest..there is always a way. cheers!

best of luck too all. pray!

That is why its better to have the medicals earlier... its valid for 1 year. Normally, when you go for medicals you would be advised if you have a health issue or not. If you have, they would usually advise you to go for further diagnostic or see a specialist. For women, any blood trace in your urinalysis will not be accepted, they would ask you to repeat U/A after a week.

Processing times are in the DIAC website, last time when I applied for 456 it took me 5 days processing (I had medicals 3 weeks before I applied for the visa and I submitted a complete application). Student Visas take longer, higher visa fees).

where did you have your medicals?

are you sure that medicals can be done prior to visa application? isnt it that the letter from the australian embassy is one of the requirements to be accommodated?

I actually have my eligibilty without ielts. :)

thats why am asking those institutions that are offering BP without the IELTS

since my relatives are in SYDney i guess it would be good for me then...

but can anyone validate this????

regarding the application for the PR, score of 7 in all subtest is the a must core? or lower score have points as well?

thanks for your reply. :)

Murdoch University for the 1 year Nursing Conversion Course do not require IELTS, some institutions don't even require an eligibility letter from AHPRA to do a conversion course, but they would let you know that after the course it is your responsibility to supply AHPRA with the needed requirements for your registration. So please be aware that when you later apply for your registration you will still be required the IELTS, as far as I know and taking the IELTS while in the Philippines (in my opinion) would be a better option.

I think its best if you look directly at the DIAC website for the detailed elements needed for the Point System. If you plan to apply for Skilled Migration you have to have your registration with AHPRA first then have ANMAC assess you then apply for Skilled Migration.

Each institution have a different design/pathway to gain the nursing registration. Some would offer a Bridging Program, some a Conversion Course and in the case of CON its an Assessment of Competence Program.

For my 456 Visa I had my medicals in High Precision (Cebu), while for my Skilled Migration I had it in Nationwide (also in Cebu). Check the list in DIAC website for list of accredited facilities. They change from time to time.

Yes I am very sure mate, it was exactly what I did and some other forumers here did the same as well. All you need to do is to photocopy your medical receipts and include it in your visa application. No, there is no letter of whatsoever required from the embassy to go for medicals. In the Medical/Health form there is an option which says "have not lodged visa application yet" and another option that asks "where do you plan to lodge your visa application"... fill/tick as appropriate.

If you are still in doubt you can call the customer service of DIAC the numbers are in the website and ask whether you can have your medicals in advance, they will certainly say you may.

I just dont know if it goes the same when applying here in the UK...where can I ask about this medical thingy if I need one?

I'll prolly just ask my relative to support me on my visit visa after the 456, surely i dont have money left by then for my tuition fee and visa processing etc.

btw 456 doesn't need to have a "showmoney" right....???

thanks!:)

Since you will be entering/working in the hospital during your BP, you will be required to have medical tests for your 456 visa. HIV and HbsAg are included. These medicals are valid for one year,so when you apply for a visit visa after your 456, you can still use that. Look up on the DIAC website and download the medical forms.

I'm not sure about 456 not needing a "show money" but most of the people applying for that visa submitted bank statements to support their application. Remember that this visa does not allow you to work in Australia, so if I were the immigration officer, I would look for evidence that you can support yourself while in Australia.

oh I see thank you so much for this info!

'no further stay' is this being ask in the application form?? pls elaborate more regarding this issue dont have clue yet regarding this conditions...and what about if i opt to choose the 'extension'? how many weeks/months would they prolly grant?

your knowledge on this matter would be a great help! :yeah:

Tick "do you intend to enter Australia on more than one occasion" in your application form. They could grant you the visit visa in 1-2 days.

For my 456 Visa I had my medicals in High Precision (Cebu), while for my Skilled Migration I had it in Nationwide (also in Cebu). Check the list in DIAC website for list of accredited facilities. They change from time to time.

Thank you, unadunad.

ACFE and HPH are not yet responding. I have emailed them several times and received no answer. Has anybody applied to ACT? Im about to forward my application there.

Hi xekie! Did you apply in ACT? How's it going? Although I haven't received my eligibility letter, I've been inquiring different bp schools and ACT is on my list too:)

hi guys :-) would really appreciate ur 2 cents on this one. What kind of evidence do we need to provide regarding "Evidence of your secondary education to the requisite level, taught, and assessed in English". Is it a diploma from the school? a certificate? a letter from the principal?. I'am aware that I might have to take an IELTS exam but just being the perfectionist that i'am, I want to provide them with all the evidence as necessary. By the way, I'am already in Australia so it might be difficult for me getting all these things again waaaaaaaaahhhh. Oh well, what are families for huh? thanks to everyone who replies :-)

hi!

i believe that each ahpra state is different in terms of "letting" us know we're being assessed....:uhoh3:

in my case, on aug.19 i received the following email:

"receipt of your application for registration

:

dear ms xxxxx,

ahpra acknowledges receipt of your application for registration.

the application is currently being assessed and you will be notified if any further information is required.

once your application has been assessed and processed you will be advised of the outcome.

please do not respond to this auto-generated email"

no case manager´s name, no reference number.....:crying2: anyway, i'm grateful i´m being assessed and praying for a blessed assessment:yeah:

thanks for the reply:) i'm just really looking forward to receive my eligibility asap so i can start my bp early next year. praying for the best outcome:) god bless everyone!:)

Hello guyz, just want to ask for an update if what states process faster for the eligibility? is WA still one of them? thanks in advance...
