New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

I do not think it is funny at all that you are considering to be a nurse in an english speaking country and you have no thought for the patients at all, you obviously think of nursing in Australia, as the golden ticket, maybe I was the person that was on the other side of the phone, thanks for the kind words.

i thought you were trying to be funny. is it bad to consider nursing in Au as a golden ticket? i know majority of overseas nurses wanting to work in Au for greener pastures. i only called the person on the other line like that because i ride with what you said that she cannot be bothered. please don't say that i have no thought for patients, because you haven't seen me do my nursing job. no prob, i have lots of kind words in my bag, just like you.

to all non-Filipinos: i just want you to know that when Filipinos relate epistaxis with english, it's kind of a non-offensive joke and compliment. the rationale behind is that Filipinos admire Filipinos who can speak english fluently, and they think that those who have very good command of the english language are very intelligent, so intelligent that the non-English speaking Filipinos cannot comprehend them, resulting to nosebleed or epistaxis.

but still, i apologize to all whom i have offended when i related english to nasal hemorrhage.

Hi. Its just sad to know that I am the "odd one" here.. LOL. Actually I only sent Ahpra an enquiry which is found in their website which unfortunately still unanswered up to now... Thanks for the advice, I'll give them a ring first thing tomorrow.

-With regards to your questions, I only paid the assessment fee with the QNC last March amounting to 180 dollars.

-Unfortunately, I admit that it was a big mistake that I didnt care to check that AHPRA was due to commence last JULY. Honestly, I was just too excited then to send my documents to QNC since they were the most lenient with regards to experience and other reqs, that I didnt even bother to scrutinize the website...its really too careless of me...When I found out about the upcoming commencement of AHPRA, it was already too late since I already sent my documents. Im also a lil bit regretful that I was not too keen to check that there were such advice to FILIPINO nurses who want to try their luck in QNC... eeessssshhh!!!!!

- and yeah, you're right, I think its about time for me to pest AHPRA QLD this time..lol..

hehehehe... its understandable becoz you were not a member of the forum here back then, have been so then you could have been well advised.. it pays to research patiently, my license is a fruit of research more than anything else...

its a "good" thing that the fee was already collected from you, because it gives you some leverage/basis to follow up.. ya knw, you collect something from me, might as well give me a little something like an update.. but if nothin yet was collected then it is easy to say for you to just wait..

btw, i suggest that you read and master the new ways of application, e.g. forms, how to fill up, blah blah... why?? i'll bet my lacoste boxers that you will fill up agen new forms... so read the previous pages of this thread which discussed how to fill up certain portions of the form.. research read as ive advised earlier..

peace.. good luck..

yes, I am from manila. :) May I know where in Manila is the ANZ Bank? Because VCHN has the same bank, maybe that could solve my little problem! :) Thanks for your help!

just dont forget to tell ANZ manila that you want your payment given to VCHN in Aus dollar denomination so that you will pay the skul the exact amount in Aus Dollar currency.... of course you will pay here in peso... bring all documents because such transaction are subject to BSP regulations..

thanks countmein....

glio, just give some allowance to the process, at least it was clear who signed and received the document.. for the past 2 years ive been in this thread, thanx goodness nobody had yet complained of lost documents.. so youll be the first, nyahahahaha.. peace.. seriously, itz there.. nways, next thing you check is the credit card billing, if you are billed then 100% your documents were in.. lets just be patient.. just to share something, my "overall" preparation of applying a license was about 1 year, and during that 12 mos. i was fidgety(spelling??) but have to be patient, until the day that came for me..

hold your horses guys... peace... kool it...

Oh my, my! I tried calling ANZ Manila today, and to my disbelief, I need to pay almost Php 51,000 in exchange for the 1,000 AUD. What's up with their exchange rate. Sad! Huhu. :(

What's up with the exchange rate? um, ask Noynoy? lol! Hellow? Philippine peso does not have a value ahihi! :jester: i sense an impending "this is so degrading to Filipinos" again. ahihi! :clown:

this is major problem! i just called AHPRA Victoria and asked them if they already received my application. i told her that according to the tracking #s of FedEx and DHL, my files are already in Vic (signed for by PeterN and Avi) more than a week ago. then the lady asked for my surname, then i told her mine but then she said my name does not appear in her list and that i should try calling again after a week.

panic attack!

did AHPRA Vic threw away my application?

panic panic panic!

to all those who sent through courier (what courier did you use?), when you checked the tracking #, does it say there that it was signed for by PeterN or Avi? (is the "signed for by ____" referring to like the desk/customer service of AHPRA Vic?, moreover, is "signed for by ____" a significant data at all?)

fortunately, i did not suffer from hypovolemic shock from all the epistaxis i got during our english language conversation, which lasted only like maximum 3minutes (but i'm charged 50 pesos). ahihi! i said that i will barrage them with calls, but suddenly i'm scared! not only because it refers to my application, but also bec i have to speak in english! horrifying! getting 7 and up in the speaking part of the IELTS is not enough to dissolve my fear of spoken english! ahihi!

btw, for globe (cellphone) users, what prepaid card do you use? i bought the tipIDD but it's only 100pesos. i think i need to buy the 500 because it takes so long to be connected to the Victoria branch.

panic mode  :redbeathe :uhoh3:  :crying2: !

If you have sun cell simcard or if you can borrow one its better to use the sun TODO IDD TAWAG because it's much cheaper (cheaper by 3 pesos /min) than the tipIDD and you can load as much as you want unlike tipiDD you can only load 100 since that is the highest card denom, which means after the 100 pesos is consume your call will be cut and need to load again in order for you to be able to call. Regular 500 card is more expensive since if you will use it abroad the charge is 18 pesos/min......=)

Guys, Guys, Guys

Please settle down and start to think rationally. If there is a large influx of applications then things are going to take time to be processed. Please can we stop getting at each other and try to respect everyone regardless on where they are from.

Haha! I feel that I just have to think a bit because the buying rate for AUD is just 40 something. The selling rate is just between 42-43. They said that the Transfer fee is just 25 AUD so I'm confused why did go soaring high as Php 51,000? Anyway, I'll just fnd another way in which I won't have to go through a "bank-to-bank" transfer. Their rates are so unbelievably high!

yeah, so true, i only registered last month to be a member here.I think this is the price of not being an internet savvy. LOL. The problem is, I didnt research nor read any blog or forum prior to sending my documents, actually, I only started researching and reading after QNC ceased their operation because I really have no one to ask. Im just so glad that you are here to help others.... Its just sad that I discovered it late.....lol.. I called AHPRA today but I got no clear answer. They put me on hold for a very long time and was passed from one operator to another until my prepaid card ran out. I'll call them again tomorrow and I'll be prepared with bigger prepaid card amount this time....OMG, nurses here in the Philippines never run out of expenses!!!!!

iso ise i-conquer, my strong belief as a former banker is that the big difference is not really something to do with the exchange rate per se, it is the transaction fee that is expensive.. unless you ask them clearly the breakdown of the 51,ooo pesos.. the current rate is P42 to AUS$1.00... it will never happen that the bank will charge you conversion rate of P51 to AUS$1.00....... it is the transaction fee girl that is costly.. but thats the way it is... check it out, i think im correct...;) unless countmein gives another good answer for us..:yeah:

just curious, so VCHN does not accept credit card payments huh? ...errrr makes me think...:uhoh3:
