New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

just curious, so VCHN does not accept credit card payments huh? ...errrr makes me think...:uhoh3:

Yes, I think you are right. Transaction fees are really high. They did not give me the current exchange rate though. They just gave the total amount that I need to send in. When I asked how much the transaction fee is, the lady on the other line told me its 25 AUD. I just don't know what the other fees are for. (I assume theres more considering the total amount)

And yes, they don't accept credit card payments. They prefer bank-to-bank transfer of funds, which is really a thorn in my throat because it just means that I really have to deal with the bank's miscellaneous fees. Argh!

try to visit a nearer bank, and inquire that you want to send US$1,000 to VCHN, and ask how much would be the cost.. if they cost will still total close to ANZ then it means thatz really the prevailing range of fees, reality bites.. (US$1.00 = P44.00).. The problem of dealing with other banks is that they do not or cannot send currency in AUS$ because they do not have a branch there.. unlike ANZ, it is easy for them to do so.. but girl, whew! the fees were expensive, i might guess the lady just made an error in her computation... double check everything... something fishy is really wrong here, i am not yet totally convinced of that 51,000...... good luck..

iso ise i-conquer, my strong belief as a former banker is that the big difference is not really something to do with the exchange rate per se, it is the transaction fee that is expensive.. unless you ask them clearly the breakdown of the 51,ooo pesos.. the current rate is P42 to AUS$1.00... it will never happen that the bank will charge you conversion rate of P51 to AUS$1.00....... it is the transaction fee girl that is costly.. but thats the way it is... check it out, i think im correct...;) unless countmein gives another good answer for us..:yeah:

assuming you are hired right NOW as OR nurse in Makati Med.... does it really matters NOW vis-a-viz your application with AHPRA? answer is NO.... your application was already sent, unless you want to complicate things then send a new form which will change/amend your existing application thereby including your new job as OR nurse or whatever nursing job that is... besides, are AHPRA rules the same with NZ or Canada where they have fixed rules on "experience"? answer is NO... the reasons are explained already in previous pages of this thread..

its Medicall. its a BPO company but they're looking for NCLEX passers/ BSN. the job title is Nurse Agent but not staff nurse. i've yet to know the job description. i'm asking if BP schools would count that as exp if ever AHPRA would let me do BP...
