New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi eaurubi! When did you send your application to Vic? I also sent my application there and I'm starting to get impatient that it's taking too long. :(

@razektine: I received confirmation that they got my docs on February 22, 2011. Just recently, I was asked to comply with additional documents. I sent the outstanding documents more than a week ago but I have not heard from the registration officer yet. Hoping, praying for a positive outcome soon. Let's stretch our optimism. :)

Hi! I didn't do my BP at VCHN. I applied and got a letter of offer but I chose to do mine at the College of Nursing since their course is only 2 months. I suggest apply to different schools right away after you receive your eligibility letter from AHPRA. :D

Thanks Macpao87! How long did it take CON to process your application for the bp? How much was the fee? I tried to email them but I did not get the information I asked for. Please continue to give updates/tips even after you finish registration. hehe. If you can pm me your email addy, the better. Thanks so much for the help. Godbless :)

I passed the requirements on my own. :) and yes, I have heard some.

Yeah, do not take what all people say as gospel. They even ask locals to do the IELTS at times..... btw you need IELTS or OET to get working visa.

Hello

I am in this sort of dilemma. I applied for AHPRA last May, 2011 and at that same month I received a letter from Otago for an offer of place in NZ however I have already submitted my application to AHPRA. I informed AHPRA that I would like to withdraw my application and they even suggested to continue my application with NZ instead and later on transfer to OZ since it requires less paperwork and money that way. But to my dismay I am now faced with huge charges on my credit card for the AHPRA application. Has anyone tried to ask a refund from AHPRA? Please do share your experience.

I am in a sorta hopeless situation because my credit card company has not delivered my bill for two months and has not informed me of my dues therefore I incurred a huge amount of interest for not paying on time, which is in fact due to their own mishap.

hi! i PM-ed to you my e-mail. toodles!

hi, newbie here. can you also send me your sample cv. please please please. thanks.

Hi guys! I have a problem with my cv. The hospital where i have been trained refused to sign it because it looks like an application form of a staff nurse, they said that the job description/skills(competent/observed) written there are not performed by a nurse trainee. what do those skills mean, job description or an assessment whether you can do it competently or not? I don't know how I will convince the director of the hospital..help...thank you.. :)

Hey ayanami... y don't you give me your email so i can send you a copy of the skills that I believe should be placed in your CV... They are really just basic skills you have learned in your nursing schools and may or may not have practiced in the hospital.. Someone from this forum has sent them to me... I might as well send it to you and to anyone who needs them as an act of paying forward for all the kindness the members of this forum have extended....=)

hope to hear from you soonest...=)
