New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Good News Guys!! I just received my eligibility letter from AHPRA Western Australia it is so fast and unexpected!

Here is my timeline:

Late April: Passed my application to Western Australia

May 17: Received an email from my registration officer that they received all necessary docs for registration and I just have to wait for the decision.

June 1: Received eligibility letter from AHPRA, my letter is dated May 25 so it took just one week for them to make a decision.

I truly recommend AHPRA Western Australia for new applicants...

Ditto :D

Here is my timeline:

Late April: Passed my application to WA

May 17: I was asked to submit additional docs

*It took me 2 weeks to submit the docs needed*

June 9: Received an e-mail confirming that docs were complete.

June 24: Received my eligibility letter dated June 16 :yeah:

Congrats! you are so lucky! I should have sent my application there instead of Vic. Vic is taking crazy long to process. Anyways, where are you planning to take your BP? good luck:D

Hi to everyone. Im a newbie here. :)

I also sent my application to AHPRA western australia last May. And I got an email from a registration officer last June 14 that they have already received all my documents.. If rumors are true that they have a speedy process there in WA, then I guess I should be expecting my eligibility really, REALLY soon.

HOPING.. PRAYING..

Hi eaurubi! When did you send your application to Vic? I also sent my application there and I'm starting to get impatient that it's taking too long. :(

If I just knew that WA process that fast, I should have sent it there instead in VIC.

Added to that, my school releases documents really slow. I requested for additional documents but it will take them 2 weeks to get done.

Hi guys,

Just finished with my bridging course at the CON - currently waiting for my registration with mikyong, miks and the others. Ceridwyn amazing got his registration after 2 days - I guess it really depends on your registration officer - anyone know what the usual timeline is for AHPRA VIC to process registration?

Thanks! :D

Thanks for your reply.:):) I assume you went to vchn for your BP? How was your experience? Did you also try to apply at mercy health? Is it advisable to apply at different bp providers simultaneously? May I know the time frame by which bp applications are processed by these training institutions? (from receipt of application to decision). I am still awaiting ahpra result. I want to know the next moves once I get eligibility letter from AHPRA. Thanks thanks for your help :)

Hi! I didn't do my BP at VCHN. I applied and got a letter of offer but I chose to do mine at the College of Nursing since their course is only 2 months. I suggest apply to different schools right away after you receive your eligibility letter from AHPRA. :D

@macpao87

hi!:) i would just like to ask if how much did you pay for your tuition fee at CON? i have read in their application form that i am required to pass an original copy of AHPRA referral letter; certified copy of passport or photo ID and criminal record check from country of origin. did you also pass your ielts result or an eligibility letter will suffice?
