New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I need to inquire on the status of my application. What do you think is the cheapest way to call AHPRA?

buy that SUN sim specifically for overseas calls, it's cheap, cheaper than calling davao to manila.. that's what i used when i was still there.

hi! i'am just in the process of finalizing my papers for ahpra... what i lack is the ielts exam and would be sitting for the exam by august... have you heard of anybody who was granted eligibility without the ielts exam? my friend was granted eligibility with reading @ 6.5 while her other friend is already having her bp even without the ielts exam...

would it be possible to send my ielts results later so that my other credentials would be assessed already by.the time i mail my ielts results... ? would be glad to be enlightened.thnx...

i also would like to know the answer to his question. i've been taking ielts exam since 2008 and i've already took 4 exams and i get 6.5 to either writing or speaking exam and getting sick & tired reviewing not to mention wasted 35k more or less.

i'm also contemplating taking the alternative oet exam, does anyone have experience taking that exam? is it easier than ielts? all i know it's more expensive. i'll appreciate if anyone could give any inputs. thanks

Hi again, I have another question.. Is it necessary to really call up AHPRA for tge updates or would sending them an email suffice? I sent my application Last April 24 and I'm starting to get anxious.

Thanks for the reply :) But is it really 2 years? I always thought it was valid for 1 year only.

Mine is valid for only a year, applied at QLD AHPRA..

Hi everyone! I'm looking for AHPRA Victoria Office landline number. Does anybody know their number? Thanks in advance!:)

Thanks for the reply :) But is it really 2 years? I always thought it was valid for 1 year only.

My letter from AHPRA Vic states its only valid for one year. I am not sure though if it applies to all applicants. :D

I hope everybody gets their eligibility soon! Good luck guys! :D

VCHN interview is really simple. They just want to know whether you can speak understandable english. :D They normally ask about your experience as a nurse.

Thanks for your reply.:):) I assume you went to vchn for your BP? How was your experience? Did you also try to apply at mercy health? Is it advisable to apply at different bp providers simultaneously? May I know the time frame by which bp applications are processed by these training institutions? (from receipt of application to decision). I am still awaiting ahpra result. I want to know the next moves once I get eligibility letter from AHPRA. Thanks thanks for your help :)
