New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Yup, to qualify for the bridging program for RN. I reckon other applicants were only given EN programs. I was just wondering what is the benchmark in terms of qualifications for RN.

It would depend on your school transcripts, don't know the other benchmarks. But one thing I'm sure of is , it should be equivalent to Australian nursing degree.

Thanks a lot for the info! :nurse:

A piece of advice for those who are waiting for their assessment result from AHPRA.. It is best to give them a call from time to time and ask for updates regarding your papers.

On May 30, I dialed AHPRA and asked for updates. The agent whom I have spoken with told me that my documents are on the final assessment phase so I should be expecting for the outcome in 5-10 days. I waited and waited but nothing arrived so I dialed them again yesterday. To my surprise, the agent told me that the result was released last June 14. The agent asked for my email address to verify if it was sent on the right address because they had a confirmation that the correspondence was emailed successfully. The agent confirmed that it was sent on the same email address. If I had not called them, I would be waiting for ages for the outcome. :zzzzz

Guys,

when u email HAPRA, do u send it through "general inquiries" or is there a specific email for doubts concerning docs, elegibility letters and ect?

I sent my docs on June 06th and fedex confirmed they delivered the docs on June10th. I´d like a confirmation that they received my docs!

Should write them an email or wait for their confirmation God knows when:confused:

Congratulations zdane. May I ask when did you send your documents? About a couple of weeks ago I contacted AHPRA and the agent told me that my application is also on it's final stage of assessment. I even got the name of my case manager but the agent did not give me her e-mail address. I was told that if ever the case manager needs more documents or if ever I still lack some of the requirements then the case manager will be the one to contact me. That's why I posted earlier, asking if how long does it usually take for a final assessment to be made once a specific case manager handles an application. So 5-10 days you say? Hmmm... maybe I should ring them again today...

Spent almost 10 minutes of my total 20-minute call to AHPRA on-hold. But yeah I was finally put through my case manager. Was informed that my application will be included in the Board's July meeting. After that I will be contacted through e-mail of the outcome. So that's like another month of waiting for me... :sniff:

Hang in there ... We are on the same boat but I was emailed a month ago. Result will come out this week according to my case manager. Hoping for the best. It seems most of us here are on the final stage of their applications. God bless us all

I wonder how are the "old forumers" doing? I kinda miss them... But I'm happy that they're already in AU. Miss you dumb, Haoyin, nykhouston!

@unadunad: Hey there bro.. happy to be hearing from you again... Anyway yours will probably arrive earlier than mine. Hoping and praying for that much elusive eligibility letter. I have just realized that it's been almost 2 years since we started pursuing this AU dream of ours. Hay life.... :D

Hi! I'am just in the process of finalizing my papers for Ahpra... what I lack is the ielts exam and would be sitting for the exam by August... have you heard of anybody who was granted eligibility without the ielts exam? My friend was granted eligibility with reading @ 6.5 while her other friend is already having her bp even without the ielts exam...

Would it be possible to send my ielts results later so that my other credentials would be assessed already by.the time I mail my ielts results... ? Would be glad to be enlightened.thnx...

(how did you apply for visa here in Davao? do you know a doctor qualified to assess nurses for Australia?)

sorry, just know very basic infos on this, i really just like some of the guys here have to try to process everything on my own cos i don't want it to be hard on my parents if possible.

a clinic in front of davao doctors (a building with a chinese resto at first floor).. not in quirino st. but the ER doors of that hospital, in front of it, at 2nd floor, thats the clinic (during my time, i dont know now)..

read australian embassy website for instructions of applying 456 visa, basically you have to mail it via a private courier, so check the tel. nos. and details at the website..

Hi guys! Hoping someone could answer my question. Does AHPRA grant an extension of the eligibility letter? I just want to ask. In case, by the time I get my eligibility letter and I still don't have enough money to pay for the bp. Thanks so much! :)

As far as I´m concerned, the elegibility letter is valid for 2 years...
