Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi guys! I have a pending application in AHPRA, since they required me to submit a license verification cause I am also a USRN, I have submitted all the documents they have asked from me, and after more than a month they finally located my license verification and emailed me saying this:
"I have been able to locate your Maryland Verification. I have reviewed your application with my manager and she has advised that we require evidence of your N-CLEX course done in the USA. This can either be a course completion, letter from the Board or transcript"
Would anyone of you know what this meant? I didn't study in the US of A so I don't really know were to get a course completion or a transcript. Thanks so much in advance for your insights.. It's been more than 6 months of waiting and I'm really wishing I'd get through AHPRA soon. Thanks!
We are kinda in the same situation. Although I am familiar with the whole process of registration with AHPRA, and I think I can do the it all by myself, I'm afraid I would still have to go to an agency for their financial help. Recently, I talked to an consultancy agency located in Ortigas which has a partner loaning agency. This loaning agency is willing to lend money for the bridging program, accomodation and living expenses. I'm still undecided though. I really wanna work in Australia badly but I don't wanna rush into borrowing a huge amount of money from them and later on have a hard time paying them off.Arrgh. It's just frustrating.
I think I know the agency that you're referring to
Why don't you just process the registration yourself? In that way you don't have to pay for the consultation fee. Then apply for a loan with the partner loaning firm for your BP expenses. Or better yet, find a company that will give you better interest rate :)
@isingrnhi, I'm still on the application phase and since I'm also a US RN licensed in Vermont,
must I include the 'certification of registration or certification of good standing' from Vermont as well?
or only from PRC?
Yes, if you're also registered in Vermont, ask them to send a license verification directly to AHPRA. I don't know the process in Vermont, but in MD, they asked me to send in a written request with a money order or check for $25. Good luck to us! :)
Good thing. Maybe we can be classmates in the BP, are you also opting for a slot in a BP school in Melbourne? I just hope AHPRA's processing will be fast and my requirements will be accepted. :)
Yes, maybe we can be classmates. I don't have a particular school chosen for my BP as of now. I'm not sure about Melbourne though. But my BP would definitely have be in Victoria. Goodluck to us.

Hi, I suggest you keep mum about your US RN license. Basing from my experience and others, it will complicate things for you. Try to read previous posts in the thread, those who declared their US license were asked for additional documents. And having a US license really doesn't really help your case. But if you really want to declare your US license, go ahead. What others ahead of me who got their ahpra eligibility advised me was not to volunteer information that ahpra has not asked or need. Our PRC license is enough to be considered for registration for an Aus RN.

Hey joiemike... I have just passed my application and I have stated that i passed California NCLEX... California does not give any license until an SSN number is presented, so i really don't have a license, just the letter stating that i passed. should i still pass a license verification for this? will AHPRA be asking for it?? Can i just explain to them about the situation that i'm not really licensed yet or something??

You just wait for their questions. Anyway, they're still going to assess your documents. Just a few posts ago, someone was asked to give ahpra some nursing college transcripts related to her having a US license. That surely complicated things for her.
When you volunteer information not really needed for your Aus nursing registration, ahpra will ask for clarification and supporting documents. It will really delay the process, or worst, derail the approval. Our Philippine nursing license is good enough for the assessment. So, no use really in telling ahpra that you also have a US license which you never used for your practice.
They do ask for this information in the application.....honesty best policy, and the form does ask for 'additional qualification and examinations. Always clarify what these additional exams are about, after all if you have come from a nursing school, they are not to sure about university standard, having passed NCLEX may score you additional recognition and get you the eligibility letter for BP as an RN not EN
As for the above post, I think it is up to AHPRA to decide what is needed for Australian registration not the applicant, they do ask for this information on the application form they must want it. There is no clause saying that they only want information of applications or exams of places that you have worked/live/or original nursing schools country only. As I said b4. having passed this exam may help in your application.
Australian applicants are asked all these questions as well, so it is not just an overseas nurse requirement to answer these questions whether it might take longer to process their applications as well.

Hi, let me share to you my experience with AHPRA overnight. Well, it's actually true that declaring your US license may cause a little bit of headache, yes, honesty is still the best policy. Anyway, if you have already declared your license, they might require you to send the same thing they asked me ----> an evidence of my N-CLEX course done in the USA, which can either be a course completion, letter from the Board or transcript.
I sent her an email explaining that I did not undergo any course or studies in the US, nor did I take any review classes for NCLEX, and I attached the certificate of license and the letter that MDBON has sent me stating that I passed.
I prayed so hard last night for my situation. In God's grace, my case manager replied to me this morning stating that I only need to send certified true copies of these documents and this should be sufficient.
I think you can also try doing that avoid delays. And ofcourse, pray well! :)
