Hi Jedcarl, you can actually find the answer to your question in the AHPRA website, but yes, you can mail those docs directly to AHPRA.. cert of good standing (from the prc) though should be mailed by PRC to AHPRA... but don't take my word for it, confirm my response to you with the AHPRA website

I think I know the agency that you're referring to Why don't you just process the registration yourself? In that way you don't have to pay for the consultation fee. Then apply for a loan with the partner loaning firm for your BP expenses. Or better yet, find a company that will give you better interest rate :)

the british council website has a collection of bbc podcast that you can listen to..listen carefully to how words are pronounced. take note as well of subject-verb agreement. it is also advisable if you'll do a monologue about certain topics... e.g. your hobbies, things you like, etc.. you also need to be confident during the speaking test. find someone who's really fluent in the English language and practice talking to him/her. :)

Thanks a lot for all of these useful information. So here's my plan, I'm gonna process my AHPRA general registration, all the info I need is provided here anyway to accomplish that..that's gonna save me a lot of dough.. And for my bridging program expenses, I'll just talk to my dad about it, I'm sure we can get a loan from a bank or an institution that offers an interest of not more than 2% a month. Thanks again :)

to monthly living expenses.. I read something about that, there's budget for food, transpo, telephone, I dont know where that post is anymore, but I know I read it... I'd been googling it and I even use the search field but it just won't pop up anymore. it is indicated in that post the minimum cost of rent as well, like 80-120 AUD/ week for shared, something like that.

@ Cioman, If its not much of a bother, can you kindly provide me a link or tell me the topic name and page of your post that has a breakdown of expenses in Oz. I know you wrote one, I just can't find it anymore, and I was not able to bookmark it. Thanks

Thanks Cioman, you and Ceridwyn's information had been really helpful to me this past week (I tried to search for answers to my questions but Im afraid some of the info I gathered were a bit outdated, hence my post) I totally agree with your warning, that is also the reason I wanted to have a confirmation from the experts here as well as from those who have undergone the same process that I'll be going through. I really appreciate your kindness in replying, I know some of the info you have provided me were already discussed in previous posts, but I want you to know that my need for clarification will also enlighten others who are planning to take the same path as me. it is also important that you always follow up the applications you sent to each institution :)

there are review centers who have a referral program, like P500 off for every referral, have 20 of your classmates put you as a referee and you get P10,000 off from your review class :)

and to think that the information which you're paying for to the agency all came from this site

Hi everyone, I'm a new member but i'd been reading forums on this site for some time now. I am planning to take the BP with VCHN (since they offer more slots i guess). Like most Filipinos, it is such a big risk for me to take the Bridging Program without the certainty of landing a job soon after finishing the BP and getting the registration from AHPRA. To add that I'm planning of getting a loan from a financial firm with an interest of 3%/mo.. it gets riskier. It's way too high I know. But that said firm is tied-up with the consulting firm I'm with..I know I don't need a consulting firm, but then, they will take care of all the expenses for my BP. With that said, I am hoping you guys can tell me if I got my figures below right. 20,000 AUD - total expenses for the 3 mo. BP, which will be my principal for the loan (includes AHPRA fees, Tuition, Airfare, living expenses for 3 mos., incurred interest for 3mos., Consultation fee, miscellaneous fees.) 4,400 AUD? - gross monthly income (Is this possible to achieve for a hard working newly registered nurse in Oz, taking into consideration 1 year practice in ICU as a full time volunteer nurse) 1,400 AUD? - compulsory monthly deductions from the above salary (resulting to a net income of 3,000 AUD) 1,400 AUD - living expenses/month..350 AUD/week - (it's possible to live on this budget right? so that leaves me with 1,600 AUD.. say, the 20K is payable for 22 mos, that would be aprox 910 AUD/mo. + 600 AUD for the interest, that leaves me with 90 AUD as savings. Now, I can live with that for 2 years, it's totally fine with me as long as i know I'll be able to pay off my debt. That is, if my figures are right. The reason I am posting this, is I really need your help to correct me, if ever I got it all wrong. And perhaps there are members who are in Oz right now who went through the same process that I'm planning to take... I'd been reading a lot of discussions but I'm still not sure if the above numbers are correct. I really appreciate your responses on this matter. Thanks in advance :) Marvsxxix
