Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

i wonder what will happen to my first nurse-patient interaction with an australian
Hey Ceredwyn,
Where did u have your documents assessed? AHPRA NSW or VIC? If you did VIC - Do you know what will happen after the BP? Will the school communicate with AHPRA VIC for us to get our registration done?
Thanks!
^ good question. Would you guys think it would take longer for those who took their bp at nsw to gain registration from ahpra vic?
That's actually one of my concerns - but CON made it very clear that the endorsement letter from wherever state can be used throughout Australia because AHPRA is a national registry. Sydney is not that far from Melb anyway, I don't think it would cause much delay, plus the course at CON is only 8 weeks so that would give more allowance I think. Just hoping for the best now, since I already enrolled.

AHPRA NSW assessed my credentials. maybe con will communicate with the nsw office regarding our performance during the bridging program. whatever the case, when we pass, we'll be registered on the whole of oz, not just a particular state. :)

i thought ahpra nsw is faster than ahpra vic?

@macpaowe're on the same boat. we share the same thoughts actually. haha lets just not forget to inform our registration officer about the program we will be enrolled in before its commencement, just like what the letter says.
Hi fellas I am writing again! I had seen an information posted on the wall somewhere in AMA's building. It says that they are giving free assessment and free English exam upon spot admission, no processing free needed. It was posted by ECA (PHILS) inc. what can you say about this? any opinion? thank you for those who will answer.
A saying in Australia that is not used in the Phillipines...
"If it seems too good to be true.....then it is..."
Is something that is coverted by many people in the Phillipines and required by many and someone can make money out of this need often given for free.....no.......there is a catch, somewhere...
can super ferry or other ships take me to oz? if that's possible, then good for me bec it's cheaper hehe
Even with Australian citizenship, I would not even attempt to enter Australia on a boat of any kind less than the size of a large cruise ship, if I did not intend to end up in a detention centre on Christmas Island.
Have you not heard of all the 'boat people' that try this way of illegally entering Australia?
I know that you say this in jest....but at times this is not joking material when in conversations over here...:)
