Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
Applications from the Uk, Ireland and USA have increased dramatically, many of those with experience, including Filipino RNs's that have been working in the UK. in the past 3 months in applications to Register in Australia, this is another reason why the processing is taking so long, it was unprecedented....
Thanks for the info. Ceridwyn
OMG! Looks like the competition is getting tougher and harder.
Still keeping the faith, storming heaven with prayers and going for it. :)
456 visa cancels the tourist visa and vice versa, right? what if i already have both, then i consume the 3 months stay of my 456, will my 3 months tourist visa automatically take effect after the expiration of my 456 visa? if yes, so that means 6 months of stay in oz with no worries. but if not then i don't know
Yes visa's cancel out each other, so therefore whatever visa you last applied for and got made the visa you had before nil and void and cannot be used ever it is gone. I would suggest you sort this out before you hit the border, could have problems if you have one visa and then try and stay on another that is void especially if you want to apply for another visa to stay longer if you do get a sponsored job and you are here without a valid visa.
Hi.. I just want to ask for those people who've got job after BP... Is it possible to apply for PR within that year? can u please share with me what is the requirements...
and is it okay to apply for work while waiting for the registration? Are they gonna acknowledge my application..?
thank you very much...
1) Besides this thread, please also use the internet when looking for answer on basic questions….
2) PRC (nursing) license, to renew or not to renew??????? …..a deep philosophical question which I could not answer...
3) Job Applicant no. 1 ------ resume: expired PRC license, no Philippine trainings in ivt, bls acls, ecg, first aid, etc..
Job Applicant no. 2 ----- resume: expired PRC license, expired Philippines training certificates in ivt, bls, acls, ecg, etc..
Job Applicant no. 3 --- resume: renewed PRC license, unexpired/current Phil. Training certificates in ivt, bls, acls, ecg. Etc….
Employer, who will I hire??? --- Of course, I will hire job applicant no. 1, he has the best resume of them all, not applicant no. 3 who has the worst credential..

possible, yes it is possible....... for complete information on PR, please read DIAC website.... complete requirements are written there.... any clarifications you need after reading DIAC, you may shoot your questions here then.. would be glad to help you after you read the DIAC website..
yes definitely, it is okay for anyone to apply for work while waiting for registration.. your application will be acknowledge as being received... but please do not expect to be interviewed or hired..
peace!
Sorry, I stand corrected. You are right. You are supposed to apply for a tourist visa before your visa 456 expires.
Aww, that's too bad, for a minute there I thought I had another option. Anyway, I think I better prepare applying for the tourist visa now since my course will definitely be 8 weeks - this leaves me just 4 weeks to complete everything else and find a job - which I doubt because they say processing along for registration may take up to more than a month. Anyone else planning to do the same?
Hi Cioman!! I left that portion out as I have the old form.. The new form doesn't have that portion and I figured out that statutory declarations are made in Australia.. I went to the Notary Public, they said that the persons who should sign the declaration should be close to me.. LOL.. Anyways, thanks a lot.. I already mailed my documents this morning.. :)
now this is weird.. since i got that email i shared here in the forum, i have not emailed AHPRA anymore. just now, i received an email from someone in nsw saying that the case officer handling my application has left, hence i havent received any updates since dec. (since that was the last date I indicated when I emailed AHPRA NSW). So now she will be my new case officer and she will have to review my application as there has been no action on it yet. WHom should i believe now? hmmm...
