Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Btw, Aelith, I would like to ask how to receive a private message here in this website?? I would also like to ask if you have any suggestions of agency here that are helping us to apply in Queensland? I also read an article from a newspaper here that the aussie employers are coming to cebu to conduct a job fair.. Nurses are still on their list despite the global crisis because they are really in short supply of staff nurses..

Is it possible to have DO IT YOURSELF APPLICATION for CQU-CAS program?
Yep. Just visit their website and download as well their QNC1 application for starters. There are a lot of resources posted in their website. If you have any queries, don't hesitate to e-mail them as they are really helpful to us applicants.. :paw:
Goodluck!
Hello Can anyone tell me if there are changes in the required ielts score in QNC? I am a bit confused coz the CQU is requiring those who would like to take the challenge tests to have a score of 7.0 on each module..please help..:nuke:
Hi! The last time I checked with their coordinator, they require IELTS average band score of 7 for all the four test sections: with listening and reading scores each 6.5 and above, and writing and speaking scores each 7 and above.
During the course of our application in the CAS program of CQU, they will require us to choose generally between undergoing a challenge test A and B OR take the four study modules to test our knowledge and capability as a nurse and to gain their nursing license. If you choose to take the challenge test, you will have to reach the score of 80% in each of four sections of the test to proceed to challenge test B. Failing in any of these sections (having a score of below 80%) will direct you to its corresponding study module to further proceed in your application.
Now, if you go directly to the modules, it is your call. But the four modules cost a lot, around P 120,000 all in all so it is really up to you.
You can read more about these infos in the CQU website for their CAS program..:paw:
Hello Aelith,Thank you for your reply, yes, I read it on a certain website.. It was mentioned by Miss Jenny Anastasi of CQU.. They are planning to have a testing centre for the challenge tests here in iloilo and they chose the university where I graduated from. I called the educ. centre of our uni. and found out that it was true the CQU requires us to have a 7.0 in all modules and as for the challenge test here they are still waiting for the MOA..
Hiya! I presume you are from Iloilo..:chuckle Good to have a fellow Ilonggo here.. I have already met Ma'am Jenny as she has visited Iloilo City twice. I met her during her second visit. Yes CQU is really planning to have a testing center here in our area and if we are talking about the same University then, yes again, they are indeed in consortium with your school.
Read on CQU website about the process on how to apply for their CAS program which is actually our way of becoming a nurse in Australia. Most of the needed infos are really found there..:paw: For any other queries, just post it here and lots of wonderful, super helpful people are very much willing to give all of us a piece of advice.

Hi! Anyone can help me? I just attended ANSM's free orientation last December and I'm really interested with the program.
Problem is, my parents are to skeptical about it because of the required fees. They say I have to look for someone who's already in Australia through that program before I enroll, for us to be sure. Does anyone know of someone who went through ANSM's bridge program and is already in Australia now? Pls help me. Thanks

hi coleen!
i'm not sure if you can have those notarized before signing up with them... better to call them before doing so..ansm will be the one to make the statutory declaration stating that you allow them to act on your behalf.
and i think it would be best to use their services to the max..you'll be paying them anyway...ryt? :wink2:
i cant PM anyone coz i also haven't reach the required posts to PM..:wink2:
best of luck!:redbeathe
