Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Thank you very much for this thread. It has been very useful for me. I am from Davao and also plans to go to Aus. I have applied in schools there through IDP. One friend of mine in Aus suggested that I take a course that's cheaper which is 'Community and Services Work' and plan for the conversion/BP when I get there. I have just received a letter of offer from a University in Melbourne. The course is neither BP nor Conversion Program. Will it work if I study that course for just 1 sem and later apply for a conversion program? Does anybody know about a University in Melbourne that offer BP or Conversion program for nurses overseas? I only have a 3-month training experience but i got a straight 7 in my IELTS test. I hope someone can help me! thank you very much!
hi kristeeta, Im also interested in the Community& Services Work and the Certificate in Aged Care, but I dont really know the how to's of it
As for the schools offering BP in Melbourne, there's Deakins, Ballarat, ETEA, there is a thread here solely for Victoria BP, some dont require experience, some do, and your IELTS score is just right
@ anyad
Look for a Tafe school offering that course, meet their entry requirements and apply, wait a couple of days for the offer letter --usually by email, pay the tuition and OSHC fees and apply for student visa then complete the required vaccines and medicals.

Goodluck :)
Thank you for the info Anyad. I will research on those school. As for applying to the same course as I have, it's just easy. Just look for a school that offers Community Services Work. A lot of schools offer it, then apply. Fill in their application form then pass them through an agency. I recommend IDP since it's for free. Aged Care only has 6 months duration while Community Services, 2 years, which means that you will be able to get a student visa which will last longer. Thanks again.
I'd like to join you guys but unfortunately I don't have any experience.I wish you all the best though, Im still enjoying your posts even if Im not VCHN bound.
well.. why dont you try? who knows in God's blessing you will be accepted in VCHN even without enough experience anyway the application is free.. are you NMBWA bound? goodluck to us..
HI GUYS!!
I am planning to go to Curtin Uni at Perth to take conversion program for registered nurses and hopefully i will be able to make it by July. I think it's a pretty good deal but the course is verrrryy expensive. Question, is it easy to get a work there (at Perth) while studying?? I wanted to get some extra money/income at least to help myself with the expenses while I am studying there.
Thanks and GodBless ya'll!! =)

hi i have new info for you. our visa for iron in vchn will be short stay visa subclass 456 for up to 3 months. in immi there is a separate information for nurses using this visa 456 and specific requirements are well elaborated. vchn will help us to proces our visa for 456. this 456 visa doesnt have a permanet residency pathway. when we agree on their package for work placement they will help us to have employer as our sponsor and while in australia under 456 we will convert our 456 visa to 457 visa (business long stay visa) this is for up to 4 years. this 457 visa is subject for employer nomination scheme for permanent residency.. i hope this infos are correct. but then its a long process we are just starting haha.. but atleast we know what we are doing and what we need to expect. goodluck to us. i hope we are on the right track. godbless
