Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
btw, the 1st time that i went to nmb-sa, i was just able to talk to the front desk clerk. told her that i studied nursing in the philippines and just wondering if i need to study further in able to become a reg. nurse here. then she told me to go to uni. of sa and ask if i can study there. vague answers.....i was reading the previous posts then i start to wonder: should i go back or mail my papers to nmb-sa so i can be assess? hmmm.......
the pre-registration in uni.s.a. is not available anymore....yet....until further notice daw.
they have satac here - south australia tertiary assessment centre. they are the one who asessess grade 12 grads and new students, including international students who wants to enter unis. unis dont do the assessment....
anyone who can shed more light to a confused dark angel like me?
@ryan - do u think it will be a wiser move if I go to Nursing and Midwifery Board of South Australia first, so they could assess my papers? like what i've posted before, i have zero idea of what i should do. pmc has already called me up and told me that i can take the bridging program. idp told me that i need to study for 2yrs since i don't have any experience at all.....the problem with pmc is that i need to study in victoria. while in idp, they can help me in adelaide unis which is nearer.
its really up to you...if you are not in a hurry to gain registration in australia then you can do the NMBSA way, but if you want it fast, then do it interstate through PMC...its totally up to you..just weigh things better and choose the pathway the you feel you are comfortable or at ease....just remember every decision you make is always right :)
