New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

hello again!!

pls help me in making stat dec for those who made it already. i dont have work experienced.. can anyone please email me the format and sample of stat declaration.

thank you so much...

hey chabeli... congatulations. by the way, are you on a bridging program in melbourne? are you in la trobe?

yup , Jan 4 in La Trobe Bendigo Campus :)

@ jaybadette - Education -no worries it's just for survey purposes and data analysis. so education or health services is fine.

Bendigo isnt a suburb of melbourne, its a regional city...yeah northwest of melbourne or in central victoria...CBD-> Central Business District...melbourne east, inner melbourne and melb CBD are all in melbourne metro area...bendigo isnt a part of metropolitan melboure...bendigo is a stand alone regional city...so all big establishments and companies in that area are all located in bendigo itself and not in any towns nearby..

great news...congrats and welcome to the Land Down Under :D

congrats chabeli!!! :)

hey! (FOR NBV) are all applicants without experience being asked to do that STATUTORY DECLARATION?

no dont be depressed...there are a variety of ways for you to do...by the way have you got an ielts results already?

you can also google IDP:Australia and look for their number in SA or any state...contact them cos they are helping overseas nurses as well...they only help overseas nurses who havent got permanent residency yet...

all the best.

hi ryan09. you're such a big help. 2 days ago, i went to IDP in adelaide (they just opened a day before i came) and was able t give me some enlightenment. sad to say, i need to take the course again for 2yrs since i need to have at least 12-16mos experience. PLUS, the unis deadline was last November 30th. He promised to get in touch with me, IF a student will drop out and the slot will be open.

then just this morning, i recieved a call from PMC. He ask me something about myself - education, more background, etc. AND he told me that i can study in Victoria or 6months which will start on July!!!!!! woohoo! now confusion is eating my system! I'll definitely go for it because it's what I am really looking for. Just confuse why IDP and PMC has different assessment....

YOU'RE A BIG HELP.:yeah::up:

CHABELI,
