New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Hi umah88,

Verification is rather a Certificate of Good Standing as it is implied in the checklist in the NBV form and the Certificate of Initial Registration is the Board Certificate that looks like a diploma. The only thing PRC sends is the Certificate of Good standing. You send the rest aside from the IELTS results.

help guys,

just like to make some clarifications, if my assumptions are correct. this is for nbv.

verification of registration- i need to go to prc and ask them to send it to nbv, right?

certificate of initial registration- is this the prc id or the board certificate? do i need to ask prc also to send this to nbv together with the verification of registration? or i will be the one to send it to the nbv?

certificate of intial registration is the board certificate -- certified true by a notary public, please follow the specific instructions on how to notarize it...it is found on the nbv website --- this will be sent by you

verificatin of registration is the certificate of good standing -- this will be sent by prc directly to nbv --choose fedex and not the regular mail to be faster and secure

i have already submitted my enrolment forms to Deakin University, and i hope they will offer me a position to do the BP in their institution...:)

next step....

i will submit my enrolment forms to La Trobe university, and take it from there...:)

i will wait who will be the first one to offer me a position.. (or will i be offered a position?) hahaha...

im so excited to do the BP...

i was just discouraged a little bit with regards the entry requirements of la trobe...but i will still try...

and you know what? they sent me a different application form, i have compared it with yours... they are so confusing...

but still my choices are deakin and latrobe cos i can apply for scholarships and etc...
