Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I am sorry I really have no idea as to the rates but I guess that will depend on what type of accommodation you want.. My classmates who were renting were paying $120-150/week excluding food.. What i also know is that you need to sign a contract with an agent the property manager.. Just check with the websites to be sure..
alrighty, thanks!
Hello guys,Im a newbie here, hope you can help me...
Applied my sister in NBV last june, rang NBV earlier results are ready to be posted out, thats good to hear!..
Actually i didnt know what to to do right after the assessement from NBV, and a friend told me he overheard these 2 filo's on the train, both fresh grad and studying in deakin for 3 months!.. Rang Deakin and last application will be on Sept 7 for Jan 2010!..
Can anyone help ,anyone from Melb that I can give a ring?.. Aside from Deakin, would you know any schools offering this course?

Hi Shar,
Yup last date for application for Deakin is Sept 7. I know La Trobe is also offering so you can ring them. They emailed me some weeks back but i couldn't look for the email anymore so i forgot the date. Please post here also if you get the info from them.
Aside from that, etea has feb intake as posted above.
hi, most of the landlords will ask for a bond money, others may ask for a deposit or an advance payment...most commonly, a bond money will be asked from you.my advice for you is to rent a room and not an apartment or flat/unit, as you will not be obligated to pay for the bills such as electric, gas and water.
as per etea website, the last intake this year will be in October...:)
hey ryan, yup i noticed that in their website too...so i was thinking maybe they haven't posted yet their 2010 dates... but then they said its february... i was really trying to catch the deakin intake on january but it looks like i couldn't because i havent' received my assessment yet. I am really praying hard i'll get it soon. as per the lady i spoke to earlier, she said i should be hearing from them soon.
Hi Chabeli, its nice to hear that your NBV assessment is coming soon...congrats!We're almost on the same boat...I just want to share some info
I've contacted ETEA and their BP for October is full and the next intake is on Feb 1, 2010, there are still few slots available for Feb and they advise me to send my application ASAP.
Ive also contacted Deakin Uni, and the deadline is Sept 7, they've also advise me to send my application through mail/ courier, so, I doubt I can still catch up their Sept 7 deadline.
Goodluck!
Hi farah,
When did you send your application to NBV? It's so sad that it's kinda taking long. it's usually just within 30 days but then they said, there's been a sudden influx of application... we still can't apply without the letter from the NBV.
the only hope could be just the etea in February... let's just share if we know of other schools offering the BP by next year....
Finally have my QNC Assesment. (after 6 months)As expected I need:
1. IELTS and
2. CAS.
My timeline
Feb 20 Sent my documents
Feb 27 Acknowledgement of application/payment through CC
May 27 - Assessment letter (Incomplete docs)
July 1 - Sent additional documents
August 24 - Letter requiring CAS and IELTS.
I have to review now for IELTS and do the Challenge tests. I have to re-read the previous pages, I kinda forgot the visa and CAS procedures already.
Does anyone still have the materials for CAS? Please PM me. Thanks in Advance.
I'll keep you guys informed of my progress.
Hi!
I would like to know the IELTS scores the QNC require from you since you have submitted your application prior to July 1, 2009?
Much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Chabeli,
I send mine last June 22, and I received my eligibility July 20...I just passed IELTS last week that's why I am in a rush now to scout for BP providers...Im also targetting the October ETEA but unfortunately its full.
My next option is Ramsay on November but I think the competition to be included in their IRON is tough...
So, I will pass today my application for Deakin for January 15 and also to ETEA for February 1 intake...which according to them, only few slots are left.
I really wish that you get your NBV Eligibility soon so you can still catch up in their deadlines, anyway you can send the requirements by e-mail....
I will let you know if I will be accepted and in which BP provider I will gain entry...
Goodluck!

Hi ryan09
I have read that you still need to submit IELTS in order to proceed further with your application in QNC. I am just wondering what IELTS scores do you need to submit prior to the new IELTS requirements? Is it the previous IELTS requirement (as advised during your application) or the new requirement which is all 7.
Thanks.

hi, i am a bit confused with the qnc's ielts requirements...as my application has been approved in March 2009, i dont know if i have to have a band score of 7 in all 4 components...(is there anyone here knows about it??)
as for my nbv application, i only need 6.5 in reading and listening as my qualifications has been assessed prior to july 2009. :)
how about you?

I am currently waiting for the final assessment from QNC. I will let you know as soon as I hear from them. I have asked the same question to 'therooftop'. We'll just have to wait for his/her reply about this matter.
Thanks.
I applied for 456 visa (Business Short stay).. Download all the application forms in the website of the australian embassy website in the philippines including the forms for the medical exam. Do your medical exam first before applying for the visa. There is a list of accredited clinics and doctors for the medical exam just read it the website i mentioned. I got a bank statement and attached it to my visa application. The money you have should sustain you for the period that you are staying here. After you have your medical, you can apply now for the visa. Call the VIA centre to arrange the pick up of your application and documents.
how much is the medical and what will i say to the accredited clinic what is it for? it is just xray or the exntensive med exam?
