Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
how much is the medical and what will i say to the accredited clinic what is it for? it is just xray or the exntensive med exam?
You just tell them that its for Australian visa application and they know already.. You will be scheduled for an appointment with them. You have to ring them first..

Health Assessment for health workers include CHest Xray, Med Exam including HIV, Hep B and C blood test. Total Cost is around 5,400 + courrier fee . This is base on my phone inquiry yesterday at St Luke's Med Center extension clinic / Ermita. :wink2:
Hi Dudzy: I would just like to ask, while you are waiting for your 457 working visa, did you return to the Philippines or a are you waiting for it in Australia? If for example I choose to wait for the visa in Australia, how would I be able to undergo a new medical examination?
To Anyone who is do doing the CAS Education modules: how long did it take you to finish one module? Were the questions difficult?
Thanks!

Hi Phoenix_Rising. Are you currently doing the CAS Education modules? When did you apply at QNC? Have you received the final assessment?
Thanks.
hi Izay.. if i remeber right , read in one of the previous pages that the QLD hasn't acknowledged yet your application. what has happened to your application? if u don't mind my asking.. thank you
Hi Ynez, I got my positive assessment from QNC last July. But i need to pass my IELTS in order for me to sit for the CAS exam. I just inquired on the cost of the health assessment to prepare my budget for the whole process. I just took my IELTS last week, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Goodluck to everyone :wink2:
I finally got my Registration Certificate as a Division 1 Registered Nurse here in Victoria!!!!!
Hi Dudzy. Just want to ask you about 456 visa. Since you had the 456, which allows you to stay for 12 weeks just in time you finish your course, did you apply for extension or you started looking for an RN job before your 456 expired? Also, is it too hard to look for RN jobs in Victoria?
Thanks.

Hi Izay. Just want to know about the IELTS requirements QNC require from you since you just received your recent assessment in July? Is it the old (as advised at the time of your application) or new IELTS requirement (which is all 7)?
Thanks.

The assessment letter is dated Jul 2009. It Says "For info about Council's pass reqts, pls refer to the enclosed info sheet." The Info sheet says "Council requires a minimum score of 7 in reading, listening, writing and speaking." I submitted my initial QNC application on November 2008.
