  1. HOPEFULLY! coz my recommendation letter to enrol in the college of nursing got expired so Im waiting for the valid one. Once I received it, i will enroll to the school. I hope it wont take long so I can have the february 2010 sched.
  2. try if your eligible http://www.nmb.nsw.gov.au/How-to-Register-and-Enrol/default.aspx
  3. hi! ive read it thanks..i have no idea about this one coz it is an individual assessment/ case to case basis. like in my case, i sent all my documents though i was a fresh graduate and was directly advised just to undergo the bridging course. so no need to study full time for 2 years. i would suggest that maybe its better for you to pass it soon so you will receive a definite decision in your case.
  4. HI!! Regarding the college of nursing in burwood, yep, thats the nursing school that appears on google. That nursing school is usually the school that assesses overseas applicants or I may say they will be the teachers that will grade your performance something if you are competent to work as a nurse in australia. But it still depends on the nursing board on where they will endorse you as to where you will have youre bridging course. royal prince is quite near burwood but there are buses from burwood going directly to royal prince alfred or may take the train-2 stations away central station and 20 min bus ride. Im not quite sure of the accommodation but you can always google it- cheap accommodation in burwood..i was also looking before coz im just curious. Some priced from $100 up.
  5. i think its alright coz its 2 different territories with different evaluating body
  6. So no need for a financial/bank statement from me, just the declaration from my aunts and uncles. Actually, I really dont have money, they will pay for me so I cant really show MY PERSONAL bank statement. what were your vaccinations required by the board prior to your BP?
  7. what sort of medical exam is for the 457 visa and how much is it? Is it possible to ask for the result from the school earlier? so most likely in 3 mos time including the bridging course duration, i will be able to finish everything? how long will u know the result of the bridging course? So before I commence my training or while Im still here in Phils., I must tell my employer that I will undergo the training and ask them to lodge the 457 visa?
  8. did you buy one way plane ticket only coz u said that u didnt go home..might as well ill do the same :) another thing, about the bank statement, coz I have my aunt and my cousin in law to sponsor everything, do I need to ask for their bank statement or just a statutory declaration? I have 3 aunts and 2 uncles in australia so Im depending on them. If you showed your ow bank statement, like how much should it be? thank you!!!! :heartbeat:yeah:
  9. I dont have the offer of employment and employment contract BUT I already finished my interview with the HR and ICU manager, filled up all the necessary applicant's forms, job description and some things like that coz i went there last apr-july for a holiday and while on holiday i looked for an employer. When you went there on your 456 visa, are you alone or with your family? Coz my employer asked me who will i include in my sponsorship. In this case, I will be goin alone first for the bridging course. Im also very curious what is it like on you first day of the bridging course? What are the topics in school and the like?
  10. this post gave me an answer to my long lost question :) I'm about to take the bridging course in NSW most likely next year and Im planning to apply for the 456 visa. I have an employer already there so most likely when should I inform my employer- after my bridging course, during or prior so they can help me and lodge my 457 visa? So its possible that I wont go home anymore right after my bridging course? That's what Im hoping for coz the plane fare is expensive goin back and forth hehe and it will take sometime again to go back coz of the paper works and other things.. So what do you suggest on when to inform my employer, I dont want to go back to Phils anymore e :)
  11. how much is the medical and what will i say to the accredited clinic what is it for? it is just xray or the exntensive med exam?
  12. hi mooh mooh!:wink2: melbourne and sydney are both in australia and that's the important thing hehe you're already in australia well if you didn't like sydney then transfer to melbourne and vise versa try royal prince alfred hospital, that's in sydney. its one of the well known hospitals there, really huge! they even have a tv show like rescue 911. that's the hospital im talking about my from my previous post where i emailed them that im an overseas nurse from the phils on holiday at that time then they interviewed me and offered me a position. try emailing them so just in case you are doing the course, you will have an immediate sponsor. [email protected] with regards to your question : when do you think should i start looking for an employer or hospital? is it during the bridging program or after? can i find them online or i still have to hunt them in person? you can email the one i gave here so they can offer you something. you can look for potential hopitals during the bridging course and tell them that you are undergoing the course. they will still wait for your registration anyway but atleast you have options and have a clearer picture. nobody will hire you if you are not done with the course since thats the path to being licensed. about the 456 visa being changed to business long stay, im not really sure about that. ive read in this site that it can be changed but i dont have a strong answer to that and i dont know people who did that. they are strict about visa options, if your visa states that you are only allowed for 3 months then that's it. it's better to follow rules than having a bigger problem in the future. it may or may not be allowed but as long as you have a sponsor then going back to oz after your course would be no problem. honestly, i was thinking about that option too (456 visa then change to long stay) but i dont have enough proofs that it can happen. i understand that money matters is really a big deal here but if its the standard procedure then we must follow. there are heaps of hospital in australia, you can google them like nsw hospitals list or melbourne hospital list and just look for their recruitment or careers area. that's what i did, i googled it, looked on their websites individually then looked for their recruitment email then emailed them. your other question: with regard to the credentials for the initial application in nsw, how can i place the verification of registration, transcript and copy of ielts scores as one if each would be sent directly to the board? is it ok if each one is sent separately? wouldn't that be disorganized and might be ground for denial of my application? it will be mailed separately by the involved institutions and the nursing board will received it separately as well. you can call them up for follow up and they will accommodate your inquiries. when i call up the board, it's surprising that everything is organized and well-documented. for instance, when i make inquiries, they just ask my birthday and full name and all the transactions ive made are being said by the operator like they sent me an email on this date and that date. probably its all transcribed in their computer systems:up: just be prepared for all the expenses because the cost of this path is towering but it will pay off and it will be worth it! thank you for your questions.
