Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
and to myeanhe: that ION thing is very expensive. And what about this fast track that you're saying? Are you referring to the CAS? Thanks! To Chiaren... the fast track and the CAS is the same. but with the consultancy firm you dont have a choice. you have to take the exam. and if you fail in one of the modules you have to pay extra to get the education modules. there are homeworks in the educ modules that you have to send through email or mail. but if you fail the fourth part of the test A (theory and clinical) you will not be able to take part B. hence, you will need to take the clinical module directly (160 hours in a hospital).
The ION course is actually a bridging program offered by the consultancy firm. it's 21k AUD. not 20k AUD. they not tell me which school will provide the course. they will only give me that info if i enrolled in the course. it includes the course fee, accommodation, assessment fee, airfare and visa processing etc...
The 21k is a bit expensive if you ask me. For a 13 weeks program, that is too much. Accommodation plus other living expenses will be around 1k AUD or so per 4 weeks, 3k++ for 13 weeks. Airfare return tickets should be less than 1k. Visa is just 200 Aud or so. That's roughly 5k... so, 15k for tuition???
20k Aud is already the total tuition fee of most 2-year diplomas that will make you eligible for Permanent Resident status after
There are BP providers in Victoria that has 4-5k AUD tuition fee... why spend 15k :uhoh21:
Double check also the ticket they'll provide you, last time I talked to that agency it was 1-way ticket not roundtrip.
Also, if I remember correctly, and if my guess is correct as to which agency you're talking about, 10k is only for Challenge test pathway and if you fail, you'll be obliged to pay extra 1k+ per module right? So that means that the 10k Aud you'll be paying is only equivalent to 1k+ Aud expenses if you do it on your own - since challenge test is only around 1k. At the most you'll be in Qld for a month so the living expenses plus airfare would only amount to 2k Aud ++. That's a big difference.
Just be sure that you'll be really employed after because if not, the 7k surplus will just go to waste IMHO.
yeah.. i know.. but that's is the best option so far because i dont have any work experience. they will give me round trip tickets. the sad part is that if there are no available job opportunities for me i have to wait. it's either i stay in australia or go home. huhuhuhu.. but they will help find a job....

Good luck then dear~ Hope everything will go well for you :)
I think this is certainly a new information for everyone else. Thanks for sharing. :)If NBV did tell you that it is possible then it is
But what I'm wondering is, the eligibility letter is non-specific to any BP provider right? So, what if the person is not applying to Deakin, will he/she still be able to get the eligibility letter? Were you given an eligibility letter without IELTS too? I have a friend who applied at NBV but had failed the IELTS requirement and was not given eligibility yet - she had to retake it.
oopss...i;m wrong in my interpretation...i looked into the updated documents and they need to get the results direct from IELTS or a certified copy of the IELTS test result...so yes, we can't get teh eligibility letter without the IELTS results....i stand corrected :)

Oh ok then. :) But are they still processing applications without it? Because I think that is the main concern of people who have their docx ready but have not taken IELTS yet or are waiting for their results.
Good Pm. Need help. Before I read these 200 plus thread here I just wanna tell you my status.

Hmm.. You can double check with NBV about this, but I am guessing you might be required to take it before registration if it is expired. I am not 100% sure so better ring them.
