Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I think 1k per month is the pro-rata rate for the main applicant for the student visa. But for the spouse it is 4.2k AUD/yr plus travel expenses for both of you. I think 300k should suffice for a 3 months stay plus a declaration from your relative that he/she would be responsible for your accommodation and other expenses would help I think.Btw, what student visa will you be applying for? 575?
the non award...yes i think its 575... thank you,aelith.

But! I would really like you to call VIA or the immi just to be sure on how much money is required. Because it is stated in the website that you would need to provide for a year's worth of money - so just to be sure, just call them. :) It is always better to be safe than sorry
Please refer to this checklist for student visa (subclass 575):

If it is indeed 12 months, your relative can be your sort of sponsor (not sure for the term) for the financial requirement if you can't provide roughly 700k Php. He/She just need to make a Stat Declaration with bank statements and payslips to support her claim, plus your money in the bank (should be in there for 3 consecutive months immediately before u lodge your application).
Hope that helps!

Hi aelith! I have an enquiry, are we allow for a student visa? Last time, when I ask one of the course provider, they allow only visa 456, and I dont know others. As I understand, student visa is for study course of more than 6 months. Although if you read the description of 456 visa- generally, we are not allowed to work unless highly specialized and non-ongoing. I didnt understand this, so I asked dimia- unfortunately, they cant give examples unless if I am already in.

Uhm you mean for Qnc and the like? 456 or 676 is what they offer for those as far as I know, because it is good for 3 months - unless the course is longer than that.
Also, for one to apply for a student visa, one would need the "COE" which is the certificate of enrollment & the course should be CRICOS registered. Without that, I doubt you can be granted a student visa. So, this visa is [i think] only available for those education institutions offering the BPs or if at least their course offered is registered in CRICOS.

Hi Ramiboy,
i will be applying for a 575 student visa--a non-award student visa. it is for courses of more than 3 months but less than 12 months... the school i plan to enroll in on October is ETEA which offers it for 13 weeks so that's more than 3 months already and the business short stay visa is strictly 3 months only and you can't apply for another visa while in Australia once the 3 months has expired....
i would have loved to just apply for the short stay visa as it costs less than the student visa but i have also taken into consideration already that i will have no classes on christmas break so i will really be staying more than 3 months there...

This depends on which state you are applying and which provider will you be enrolling at.
