New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

hi gail!

The TOR that i got from my school doesn't have RLE attached to it.. But when i received the advise of NMBWA regarding the receipt of my application, i was told that a breakdown of the theoretical and clinical hours of my subjects needs to be submitted as well. so i requested that from my nursing school and they gave me not only my RLE copy but the breakdown as well.. i suggest that you request that already from your school if you don't have a copy yet so that you can save time and money :).. i waited for almost 3 weeks before my school gave me my request. :) Good luck!

hi,

just a question, does the nurses board of the northern territory requires work experience?

thanks

hi ms.sofia, thank you for the info. :) I'm still preparing all the documents needed and making sure I got it all before sending anything.. hope i wont miss out something.. :) I still have a few questions though.. i'm a bit confuse, when requesting for a certificate of good standing in prc, im going to bring a certified true copy of my prc license and board certificate for the verification of initial registration and current registration right? Should the photocopy of my prc license and board certificate be notarized in prc or can it be done in other notary public? thanks again..sorry for asking lots of questions :)

hi gail :)

If i'm not mistaken, when i went to prc, i only had a photocopy of my license with me. Both the verification of initial and current registrations are equivalent to the certificate of good standing already. I clarified it at NMBWA and that was what they told me.. But i included my notarized board certificate along with my application form. I had my documents notarized outside prc, so i guess it's just alright with NMBWA, otherwise, they should have told me that they won't accept my documents when they advised me of their receipt of my application... glad to be of help :) good luck!

i'm working as a callcenter agent and at the same time reviewing for cas.

it took me a month to finish a book, so i decided to file a leave of absence for a month starting May to concentrate in the review. hehe.
