Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!

hi mhaggz!
the verifications that you will have to request from the PRC is the Certificate of Good Standing. you need to request it from the Registration Division and ask them to send it to NMBWA.. I also had trouble in requesting for these verifications before so i decided to ask the NMBWA directly what they really need and they told me that it is the certificate of good standing :)
I already invited you to my YM.. :)
HELP ME PLEASE... what visa should i apply for? I already enrolled with ETEA for the initial registration course for overseas nurses (IRCON). The duration is for 13 weeks.. What visa should I apply? Is it 456 or 676? And for those who applied for the visa 456 and are already in aussie, how much was the money in your bank accounts when you applied for the visa? THANK YOU SO MUCH to those who can give some suggestions and inputs... Thank you!
If its more than 3 months.. you might want to try the student visa although it may take more time to process.. You can also try the 676. If you are going to apply for a 676 (tourist), I think you can extend it provided you get a letter from the institution stating that your course is not yet done and would need another month or so to finish. But double check this with DIAC.
As for 456.. it is good for 3 months only even if its multiple entry (multiple entry will allow you to stay a max of 3 months in Aus per entry).
I would suggest that you contact DIAC to check which visa type you should apply for. :)
hi paui!..
I inquired at HPH last february and told me that the current bridging fee is AU$880 plus an additional administration fee of AU$220.. but nursemavi says that effective sept 2009, the fee is AU$1100.. i'm still confirming with nursemavi if the current fee is already inclusive of the administration fee or not.. :)
