OnFriday, October 18th, 2014. President Obama has appointed an Ebola czar by the name of Ron Klain. This individual has NO MEDICAL EXPERIENCE. However, he is a Washington insider (for whatever that means). Why could the President not bother to look for a nurse or doctor with management experience. I know it is a little to soon to be this judgmental, but we are fighting for our lives.
This guy is not going to be working in a silo; I am certain he will have a plethora of doctors, scientists, & epidemiologists readily available to provide guidance on Ebola. Also, he will be coordinating the national response & providing oversight, not providing technical expertise. Conclusion: we can all simmer down a bit.
This isn't Russia. He isn't a czar.
Ronald Klain was appointed the Ebola Response Coordinator for the Office of the President of the U.S. on 10/17/2014.
His CV is impressive and it is going to take someone with political acumen to take charge of the many agencies involved to control the situation.
Homeland Security, CDC, WHO, AHA, HHS, OSHA, CMS, INS, FAA, Customs, Congress, and the Senate, just to name a few.

At this point, there needs to be efficiency; it may be this person, until otherwise, I'm observing before passing judgement.
Why would "less partisan" equal "right wing"?Your assumption is way off.
Nope. Her assumption is not "way off" as is evidenced by her links to conservative sources & her implicit right of center leanings in her post. Also, she made her views clear in her description of the czar as "a radical liberal". Keep it real, yo.

You are very perceptive, except that you think Sc_rnDUDE is a "her". Yo.
When someone explained that he was an "implementer" not a doctor, I understood more why he was chosen. If he really is good at getting stuff done effectively and efficiently, I will withhold my judgement until we see him in action.
I don't see how he's going to be any kind of implementer if he doesn't attend the meetings.

And this is exactly why he is a poor choice because Ebola is a public health concern, not a political platform. There needs to be someone who actually knows something about Ebola if they are going to be appointed 'Czar'.
