we have concluded our testing, thanks for everyones feedback. after testing the new chat, we decided to stick with the previous chat program we have been using.
for some reason we have not figured out, a few people are having problems using the chat. the java chat works best with the microsoft internet explorer browser (ie). if you are having problems accessing the chat, please try ie you can download ie at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp
you can find the chat room here:
https://allnurses.com/pl.cgi?chat
hint: the evening hours are the best time to catch someone in the chat room. daytime hours are not as active.
enjoy! and thanks again for all your feedback!
It took 3 or 4 minutes to download at a speed of 28.8. Then my computer sat and went clickety clickety for a couple minutes. When it finally stopped clicking the task bar said "applet started" and I had a chat window on my screen but none of the buttons would do anything and nothing happens when I type in the box. Oh, and I am using an antiquated version of IE and still running in windows 95.
not too shabby...
1) would love more emoticons, but i'm sure that'll come with time...
2) would like to keep colors all the time without having to click them every time...
3) type is too small, even for my 30yo eyes...
4) Thanks to brian for always working to improve our quality of cyberlife.

For some reason, it takes a few minutes for things to load for sometimes and sometimes a few seconds? Not sure why the lag time. For those of you on a dialup modem, it will take longer than those with a high speed connection.
