NELRP is there a thread?

Nurses General Nursing

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

Correction: When I fill out the info it brings me to an error page. Even more stumped!

Maybe they are done with your review and you are accepted? Crossing my fingers for you!:)

My husband is an RN and I found this program and had him apply last year, with no luck. This year he applied again, but we weren't getting our hopes up. His application has both the credit check and EPL, and he has the participant option when he signs in! I'm trying not to get too excited, but it must be good news!

100% Debt Ratio, HPSA 14

That's great news, spiff! I know it's really hard to stay positive without getting your hopes up! I keep telling myself not to count my eggs before they hatch lol. I'd still like to hear from others and see how many people have the participant option... Anyone??

158% debt ratio, HPSA 15, DSH

I don't see a roles tab when I log in. I see tabs: "Home" "Account Settings" and "Log out", is this where you are looking? But, this wouldn't be the first time weird things happened with the HRSA application site. While I was applying I ran into multiple computer glitches that took weeks to be fixed before I could move on. Its the first year they are using it so there are bound to be funky things. I'm trying hard not to read too much into anything I see...

My applications still says 'submitted'. My ratio is 165% but I can't seem to find where I can see my rating for my hospital. I do know there are 2 or 3 other nurses at my hospital that got this award in the past. The fact they haven't started reviewing is making me nervous!!

When I login, I only have the "roles" and "log out" tabs in the top right corner because it automatically selects "participant" instead of "applicant" for me. Once I select "applicant" it brings me to my main application page where I have the tabs "home", "account settings", "roles", and "log out". I can't help but think that if it were a glitch in the system that it would be system-wide and not affect only some people. I'm not trying to give false hope or suggest that it means those of us that have that option have been selected for an award. I am simply curious how many people have that option and if they have received any communication from the HRSA to see if there could be a correlation between the two.

Enter the address of your facility on this page, and it should give you the HPSA score:

I submitted my application the day before the deadline, so I honestly have no idea how they choose the order to review applications. I think this is one question that has yet to be answered in the past years of the program. If you're worried about it though, you can call them and hopefully they'll be able to confirm that they have received your application and it's in review, or soon will be. Good luck!

Pupper... I am in the same boat as you. My application still says submitted and nothing has been done to it. When I called, they said I should hear something by September... but wont really tell me anything else... Has your status changed or did you call to find out about your application?

I called the hotline...the gentleman just told me I was being reviewed and everything would be announced by September or October. I think they have to review everyone before any decisions are made. My status never changed and I haven't seen any additional documentation. I think I'm 185%.

My suspicion is they review the applications in order of HSPA score then debt ratio since that is how they make the awards. Its seems everyone with a credit check has a score of 14+ (tier 1) so far. It would also explain why some people have been told that all applications received an initial score (or whatever it was).

kslusher and pupper - I would love to know your scores to see if that fits in line, if you don't mind sharing!

Also, about the participant option under Roles, I'm wondering if its something I had done? Maybe I tried to sign in one day under the participant site or something like that. Anyone want to give it a shot?

I just got done reading through last year's thread, whew! It took several days, but there is some very helpful info, even some from an NELRP employee himself! I'm so glad I read it, but it seems as though there is a strong correlation between receiving an email from NELRP and receiving an award. Hopefully we'll start hearing something soon!

That's a good theory! I can't think of a time when I tried to login on the wrong link, but honestly, I wouldn't put it past me!
