I was wondering about the date change and exclamation mark you guys were referring to. I checked my app and there is an exclamation mark after my name, and my loan date changed from my submitted date to a febuary date. Does this really mean anything? Haven't done the credit check thing yet, any info appreciated.

Ok, I called the HRSA ppl and they helped me get a new password and now I can log in again. But when I logged in I saw some of my loan dates have changed!! One loan from each lender now has a date of 4/27/11 to be specific. I don't know if the login problem and dates changing are connected?? I tried to ask the HRSA ppl if the dates changing means anything and they were no help. They didn't even understand what I was talking about.

I also have an exclaimation point after my name, but I honestly haven't looked until now, so it may have been there all along.

Good for you, Suzy! I don't know if they correlate either but I DO KNOW that most of the bloggers who posted last year stated first that their dates had changed on their loan applications and this is the only reason I have been posting this information. I don't know anything about an exclamation point but I am now going to look and see if I have an exclamation point. My dates had changed to February dates pretty quickly but I also had checked my credit report back at the beginning of March and nobody had inquired about me or anything. And no type of correspondence from my loan providers. But to be perfectly honest, I really feel like if your loan dates changed that just means that you are in the first running and that you're being considered. I NOW, however, am starting to think that since I have not had any inquiries into my credit report and no correspondence news from my loan providers AT THIS POINT, that I most likely messed something up yet again on my application or something. But Suzy, since your dates changed I think that's really good news for you. Please let me know when you do finally check your credit report because that is, only in my opinion, the kicker for the YAY I PROBABLY GOT IT! because they HAVE to check your credit report to get the loan. So sigh, I am sad that nobody's inquired about me! sucks for me. Yay for everyone else.

Oh, and Suzy to answer your question, No I don't think that they tell you details on why you did not receive it. I think they just say general information on how come you didn't get the money. But I'm not sure...

I think your dates changing also probably just means you're being considered... but hey, you're being considered!

My dates changed today! I'm excited... even though it doesn't mean much, it gives me some hope!

Thanks Amy!! So did u figure out the nondisproportionate mistake on your own? The credit check is tempting, but it really is early still. As it's been mentioned before, many people were still getting letters in late September! So really try to not make any assumptions or give up hope! I'm not anyway. At least we've got this site to whine to one another! :D

Tess, your dates changed today huh? I noticed it today, but the date is 4/27/11. I just hope mine didn't change outta some fluke due to my login difficulties. That'd be just my luck, lol.

Also another question for everyone. For those of you whose dates did change....did they ALL change? For example, I have 3 lenders, but multiple loans from each. So, as instructed by HRSA ppl I did one for each individual loan. Only one loan per lender has changed dates. Input?

Also, I don't see where anyone in the previous years has talked about the dates changing.... in 2010 or 2009? Where are you guys seeing this as a positive sign in the past?

Yep, my dates actually changed to today's dates.

Mine is the same as yours Suzy. I also have 3 lenders and only one loan per lender has changed.

If you read through the discussions for last year, they discuss their loan dates changing.

Good luck!

Hmmm...I don't know, I do know that on my loans, I have two different dates for like all six or 7 of my loans. Half of them say like february 11th, the other half say february 15th or something like that. so maybe that means that they looked at the different loans on those particular dates. Maybe HRSA only looked at a few of your loans @ this point. Keep looking back to see if the others change. Again though, I'm just speculating. I have no idea what's happening here. unfortunately! keep up the posts gals; I want news that'll possibly gimme hope! I will keep ya'll posted if I hear/find out anything as well!!

Amy, do u have multiple loans listed from the same lender? For example I have about 6 loans listed all from US Bank and only one of the dates changed.

And I agree let's keep up the posts! It's at least entertaining!

YES. I have multiple loans from Sallie Mae and a few loans from Great Lakes. I know that they put too to put each loan separately, but I wasn't really sure if that meant my original loan or post-consolidation? I did NOT list each one of my numerically received amounts on the list online. I did give them, though, in my packet that I sent the list with each of the loans, but I thought (and now I'm second guessing myself) that they wanted the loans but not each amount when I received a monetary check. Am I making sense? I got these loans and in each of the loans I received, I received a few different payments over the course of the semester/year I think. So it came down to quite a few payments over my nursing student career but I just put the loan origination amounts. I feel like I was a lot more detailed in the packet that I sent in, but I had only put like 5 or 6 loans from the two lenders online on the list. I am just stressed that I will not receive this award for some stupid error and that annoys me, ya know? My husband knew a few nurses a few years ago who received the award because my husband told them about it, and they told him that HRSA actually called them and asked them to send in paperwork that they needed to make things right so that they could receive the awards. According to these nurses, HRSA was very helpful and guiding them through what they needed. So it sucks that it has changed so much that if you make one little mistake now, you don't get assistance. I feel like if you really NEED this money, like most of us who apply with >100% debt-income ratio do, they should at least cut you a break and let you know what you're messing up (at least for next time you apply). It's just kinda nerve-racking, ya know? Uggghhh!!! But yes, I like reading the posts on this website; it gives me hope during my work shifts! Sometimes I get really nervous before reading the new posts! Ha, silly when you think about it, but so true!

Amy, the chance of error is pretty scary. I thought I read on a post last year that a reject's letter said they were "elidgible but not chosen for funding." That would at least tell you if everything was filled out correctly right?

As far as the online vs. paper loan forms... I got a different answer on how to do it with each HRSA person I talked to. FYI my loans are not "consolidated" but I have multiple loans from the same lender and they automatically lumped the sum together. On both the paper and online forms I filled out a separate form for each loan. Even if one loan had two disbursement dates (aka for each semester) I filled out a separate form. One loan technically had two disbursements literally two days from one another, and I think for that one I just did one form and wrote the disbursement dates out.

So, online you have only one potential "date changer" for each lender? Is that right?

I don't get nervous about the posts, but I don't think it's wierd you do! I'm just damn impatient and for some reason analyzing it to death is a nice way to pass the time!
