mr. medina,
at this point, we have finished sending out letters for those applicants who have been awarded, so yes, those that have not received a letter as of now, unfortunately have not been awarded. i'm sorry, you have not been awarded for this application cycle. i looked at your application to find out why and it looks like we found that you have defaulted on nm child support in the past and therefore we cannot fund your application. i'm very sorry. best of luck in the future.

mr. medina,
i am told that these sorts of things usually stay on your credit report for 9 years, so unfortunately, until then, we will not be able to fund your application. if you still have educational debt after that time, i would say definitely try again. until then, we will not be able to fund your application. i'm very sorry.

Needless to say I was anxious until October 18th and I got my email on July 14th last year!!! So expect anxiety but not this time around! I suspect well know by September 15th and if we don't hear from them by September 30th I would assume you did not get awarded, either way still a waiting game! Chill everyone!
JMedina - The Aug. 22nd date that people are talking about is stated from one of the reps to a few of the blogging applicants as to the date the contract is effective and that they have been "unofficially" awarded; he told these inquiring people that they were awarded because apparently he had to leave town and finish up earlier. So if I were these people I too would not count on anything until I received an award letter but I would definitely be happier knowing they were most probably going to receive a letter. Because this particular rep stated the exact amt they were going to receive in their banking account and everything. My particular rep stated that since the only way they award people is by a letter signed by the Secretary, that anything she verbally told us would be unofficial and therefore, not certain. But she also said, "please try not to worry". I am hoping that that is a slight little clue???? what do you think??
I am starting to get very nervous that I am not going to receive this award now. Especially because I think I defaulted on a health payment when I was in nursing school and I know that is on my credit report (even though my score is excellent). Sigh...I just really wish I would know SOMETHING
I don't think anyone is suggesting that the email means we have been awarded anything. If we thought that, we wouldn't be so stressed out! And the part in the email stating contracts would be signed starting in August is another reason we're all on edge. It's more than halfway through August! It's knowing that it can be any day. Even last year, with less time to process everything, it looks like people were receiving award letters in July and getting deposits in August. This is based on the thread just like this for last year.
Health bills? NO being late or negative occurrences don't count against you, its if you have past due or delinquent c.support payments and others....follow this link: http://www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/repayment/nursing/eligibility.html
Applicants will be deemed ineligible if they:
That could mean Aug.1-Sept 30th....so if it was the 1st of August I would be worried I don't have anything in my mailbox yet.
Another question Jmedina46 if ya don't mind. :) - Did you realize when you wrote this that NO ONE has received a letter yet? No need to get nervous yet for that reason in my opinion. What do you think?

i'll do my best to answer your questions....
my credit report one of the 3 major reports (experian) showed a delinquency in my child support payments which was not accurately reported. i was told thats why i did not get selected last year and if i would fix that problem i could apply again. so i have. you can't have any past or delinquent federal or state obligations like fha payments, liens on property, delinquency in obligation payments. btw my credit score sucked! its not about your score or ability to repay its about looking for federal or goverment past due obligations....
again i have never heard about the exact date august 22nd, sometimes we tend to read into blogs and dates too much, i have never seen officially that date, now if a rep. said it to someone etc...thats hear say and i would not rely on that. below is "cut" from the email we recieved and it says "which will occur between august and sept. 2011. that could mean aug.1-sept 30th....so if it was the 1st of august i would be worried i don't have anything in my mailbox yet. im not exactly sure what blog you are referring to which stated people recieved contracts as "early as july"? i know that due to the devestating winter storm in 2010 on the east coast the deadline to submit was moved up from february to march and even then they were running behind and first wave of emails came out in july. maybe those that got a contract are associating the "contract" with the email they recieved since they got the contract. getting an email does not guarantee you have been awarded. you are one step closer. the correlation of the fiscal year has alot to do with the budgets and approval of monies and when they can be disbursed...if 2012 fiscal year begins sept. 1st then they cannot sign in to a contract. the date sept. 1st is usually the date for state, federal and gov. agencies, for example here at dshs in texas it is sept. 1st...
print and sign a nelrp contract - this contract becomes legally binding only when signed by the secretary or his/her designee, which will occur between august and september 2011.
