Hi all!!! Is anyone out there applying for the Nurse Education Loan Repayment for 2011..I came across the thread for 2010 but was just looking for some additional support...ahhhh!!!!!!!! Its so stressful!
Thanks!
Jessk, thank you! Really I think no one should be discouraged at this point since it's so early, although some of these comments are making me nervous. From what I saw of last year's blogs it seems like the extremely high ratios were receiving letters first and the ones closer to the 150% mark were later. Maybe it would be smarter to feel like I lost it this year already, but I still have hope!
sweetmeggy, thank you! That actually makes me feel slightly better since I owe about 147% (90 grand). SO I still have my hopes up that other loans are being handled prior to mine. I hope and pray. Do you happen to know if the dates on your submitted application changed under the loan part? Because I did see that last year the ones that had changed had received funding. Well, keep me posted and congratulations!!
Hello,
I applied to the program this year for the first time. My income-debt ratio is only about 65%. I feel a bit stressed out hearing that people who got awarded in the past had 200% debt ratios. If I'm not mistaken you will need to own about $80,000 in eligible student loans and make only $40,000 a year to have the 200% ratio. Is that correct?
After reading the above posts I have also checked if my loan amounts changed but no change . I submitted my application right on the dot on Feb. 8 on-line and faxed in my supplementals that very same day. I have my loans through Citibank and Wells Fargo and heard nothing from the banks yet. Feeling kind of stressed and

sweetmeggy22RN,
wow, that fact makes me really nervous too considering I haven't received any correspondence and I also have Sallie Mae as my primary lender. That really blows! Uggghhh!!!! How much student loan debt are you in if you don't mind me asking and do you know if anyone has checked your credit yet?? Well, now I'm just gettin more and more discouraged....
JessK, Yes, I did the same exact thing in nursing school. I didn't grow up with a whole lot of extra money so my parents, although quite loving and sweet, couldn't and so didn't help me with financial assistance so I got out what I needed to make ends meet. So I too, have a whole lot of debt. Sigh. C'est la vie...I guess if I get this it would be the world to me and family but if I don't life goes on. I am already getting more and more discouraged now anyway since I haven't had a credit check or correspondence through Sallie mae anyways.
