Hi all!!! Is anyone out there applying for the Nurse Education Loan Repayment for 2011..I came across the thread for 2010 but was just looking for some additional support...ahhhh!!!!!!!! Its so stressful!
Thanks!
Amy,
thanks for getting some info! sounds like you got lucky and got a hold of someone that would actually give some info! I'm interested to see when red team wil start sending out emails. Also, when we will get our award letters (hopefully)!!
KeeKee- I think that link is from 2009 and I would not pay any attention to it.
Winnie, all you do to figure out your debt to income ratio is divide your debt by you current income and you should end up with a number over 100% if you make less than 110,000. That is the correct way. Also, that list is not a list of the hospitals that get the awards, it is just a list of the nurses that were awarded and shows where they will be serving their time...facility does not matter as long as it is a DSH and then they just go down the line based on need...One DSH is not better than another, it is what it is.
My debt to income ratio is 162% and I am from OH.
Winnie - what do you mean you sent in too much information? What over-information did you send!?? Also, what is your base annual salary? Because I have about 95,000 in loans and my debt-income ratio is 155% (I thought it was only 140-something but I recalculated it)? So if your is 60% that would mean that you make more annually (a good bit more). Are you an RN or a NP? or CRNA?KeeKeeRN, I don't think you multiply anything by 100!?? I didn't when I got my 155%.
Now I am getting even more nervous with the blue AND GOLD team thing. I think I'm gonna call customer service and see if I can get any answers...
I believe I was doing my math wrong!!! Thanks for the clarification.
I sent in way too much information regarding the information about my student loans.
OK Winnie, that makes me feel a little better that you have over 200% and you're on the blue team. It was starting to appear that those who had gotten the blue team had smaller percentages (and Lord knows we cannot always believe the customer service reps that we speak to)! I am going out of town tomorrow for a week! I will pray when I return I will get something in the mail! Also I forgot to post this too, but when I spoke to the customer service rep on the phone I asked him how long it will most likely take the teams to mail out award letters after we receive our verification emails and guess what he told me??.....BY SEPTEMBER 30TH.. ha ha ha
Hi ALL!
I got my NELRP email on 7/14. I didn't actually recieve it until Sunday the 17th because I was on vacation and didn't check my email until then! I was freakin' out because of the "fax within 24 hours" message on the email. To make matters worse, I couldn't quite remember my password to log-in for the bank account information...AND my account locked.
So Sunday night I faxed my acceptance form and contract, and then wrote a note to Mr. Richard Callahan explaining that I was locked out of my account and couldnt finish the bank information just yet and would call Monday to get it unlocked and finish everything up. On Monday, that is just what I did... phew! Now I could only pray things were in my favor.
Today I got a call from guess who?!? Mr. Callahan himself! He wanted to make sure I got it all done and faxed. He also said not to worry about the 24 hour notice and says, "besides, it takes us 5-6 months..." He said if my application was complete, not to worry about a thing and he would take care of me!
How cool is that?!? So just to ease your anxiety, if you got an email, that's pretty good news...and if you didn't...there is a ton of time left. This was my third time applying. I am an RN who works at a critical shortage Hospital in Oregon with 150%.
