CONGRATS TIMNSARA! Do you think I should call Sallie Mae too?? Did you happen to get some email saying they needed correspondence information from you from Sallie Mae or did you just take the initiative and call the loan company. The reason why I am asking is because Sallie Mae is my main loan provider (I think I owe like 70-something thousand as well thru them), and I have NOT received any type of inquiry into my loan (no correspondence @ all)!! So whatcha think? Did YOU receive an email about correspondence? Good luck!! You're basically in the bag for the award, with all this information! It's so difficult to not get your hopes up, huh? I mean, seriously, if HRSA is doing all of this and you don't get awarded, that would be nuts.

So I just called Sallie Mae too after hearing that information TimnSara, and the man that I spoke to said he looked through my correspondence on my website (same information as I can look @ myself when I login) and there is no information. I asked him if they had any information that would not be on the website and he was basically like, no. So I don't know if I should start getting discouraged again. That's one of the negative aspects of this blog, is that if one of you nurses has information that is positive and hopeful, I want it too!! Ha ha ha. Sad but true. So I dunno. Timnsara, let me know if when you login to your Sallie Mae website, if you have correspondence on there too from HRSA and payoff information. Because my customer service rep says nobody from HRSA has inquired about me (from what he could see). What exactly did you ask them when you called? Did they just look on your website like mine did? Sigh

No, I did not receive any E-mail. I just called but I called last week and got an immediate no. Pretty positive the person I talked to last week never truly looked into it. It took the women 5 minutes get back on the phone with me so it seemed like she went out of her way. I bet the person you talked to just didn't look into it. I can not get into my Sallie Mae account so I can't tell if they have it on the website. If it makes you feel any better I did call Great Lakes as well and they gave me an immediate no. Who knows, No guarantee, they could still not award anything for us. Boy I am so nervous right now and going to be checking my E-mail and mailbox non stop.

HOW COME you cannot get into the website for Sallie Mae for your account? Do you pay your bill via the website or thru mail? Well, that kinda makes me feel a little better I guess....I am still gonna be worried like hell too

I usually call because ever since we got our Mac computer I can't do anything on it and lost all my passwords. No worries. I have a good feeling about you! I will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for us!

THANKS! I have a very good feeling about you too, but I think you probably already know you're gonna get this award by now! I ask if you received an email because each time I get correspondence or a bill available on the manage my loans website for Sallie Mae, they send me an email. I have been checking my email religiously, not only for the contract HRSA email but also from anything from my lenders stating someone is inquiring into me! I don't know why, if HRSA does inquire into my lenders about me, I wouldn't receive an email! But I guess I shouldn't panic just yet. I am happy we have this blog because it definitely helps me get my insanely neurotic worries off my chest about this whole thing! I will be crazy until September or until we hear something!!! Eeeekk!

Sounds like it's starting to get exciting! But stressful! I'm excited for all of you who are hearing things... seems like it could be any day that people start hearing something legit from HRSA! I hope so! All this waiting is terrible!

Amy... I haven't received any emails from my lenders saying anyone has looked into me either... I sent them all emails though (Because I'm too afraid to call and get bad news!). So, hopefully, I'll be hearing something soon!

You emailed your lenders?? Yeah, as you read before, I called and nobody's inquired about me. And I actually called to get that news. Sucks for me. But timnsara may have been right because the customer service rep I spoke to from Sallie Mae didn't really do anything...he just looked on the same website I could look at myself! I think Timnsara is lucky she spoke to who she did when she called. I dunno. I am trying not to look too much into the lender thing, even though it's tough. Tess, weren't you one of the ones who received some correspondence thru your lenders, or no? What have you received so far?

Yep, I emailed them. I figure it's the same people who respond as it is when you call them. It's in there "contact us" link I think. I haven't heard anything through my lenders.. My dates didn't change until April 28th. They also pulled my credit that same day. That's all I have so far!

It does sound like you just got a bad customer service rep.. Maybe you should try to call again next week?

Amy- There were many people on the previous years boards who got inquiries and still did not get the award from what I read no one is for sure at this point. I really think it is only bad customer service issue. I do get random emails from Sallie Mae about the account and they never told me anything about this through E-mail. Maybe its just done in waves like next week they will be doing yours. Remember I did get a no from Sallie Mae just last week.

Lets just all keep praying for all of us. I love that we are all so supportive of eachother and it is so nice to be able analyze everything with you guys!
