I applied for the 2009 NELRP. I did not expect to hear from HRSA until September (IF I received an award). However, I was contacted by HRSA yesterday (June 15, 2009). They asked me to obtain pay off information for a few of my loans --- they had been unsuccessful with getting the info for those loans on their own, but did get the pay off amounts on other loans.
I asked the HRSA representative if this was a "good sign" and she responded that she could not confirm funding, but I am a "first funding preference" and "within range" (I think most who apply are "within range").
Questions: Has anyone else heard from HRSA this early?
Thanks!
Michele
Your ratio give you a pretty good chance, but the DSH also matters. If it's in the First Preference funding, then you should get it, hopefully. Good Luck!
PS. I know the payments do kill. I hated seeing my entire paycheck be gone the minute I got it. But trudge through it!
Gudiarani -I am applying for NELRP 2010. I work at a DSH in Maine. I see that your ratio is right around where mine is, about 290%. Do you think that is high enough to have a chance? My loan payments are killing me, 1,100 a month! I'd appreciate your input! :)
Hi all,
Good to see everyone back on here. I too was wondering about October's payment. I'm glad it is not just me. We don't have state taxes taken out in Texas, but wouldn't you think they would know to deduct state and federal taxes for you? I wouldn't imagine you needing to pay the state taxes yourself. Have you tried to call them and ask? Also, are any of you going to apply for the 3rd year? Do you know if they send us the info or do we need to call them?
I called HRSA and they said that October is the beginning of their fiscal year and that is why we did not get a payment. They said that we will get two payments this month. The call rep said you are abou the 20th call today asking the same thing and that he wished they had made it clear to us. Hey as long as we get the payments then I'm good ....

I am in the same situation. I received the e-mail on 8/25 and nothing since. However,I spoke with a rep who assured me I was funded.I still haven't heard from hrsa, no deposit. I'm going to have faith and wait on a letter. Hopefully it will come!
