I applied for the 2009 NELRP. I did not expect to hear from HRSA until September (IF I received an award). However, I was contacted by HRSA yesterday (June 15, 2009). They asked me to obtain pay off information for a few of my loans --- they had been unsuccessful with getting the info for those loans on their own, but did get the pay off amounts on other loans.
I asked the HRSA representative if this was a "good sign" and she responded that she could not confirm funding, but I am a "first funding preference" and "within range" (I think most who apply are "within range").
Questions: Has anyone else heard from HRSA this early?
Checked my bank account this morning.... Got a deposit from the HRSA Treasury while I was at work! SOOO EXCITING!! Best of luck to everyone still waiting!
Oh my God....I got it, I got it, I got it. I thank God. They didn't send anything in the mail, but the deposit was there this morning. Oh how I pray that each and everyone of you who have waited faithfully, will be blessed with this award as well. I am so overwhelmed right now.
Bellydancer1, I received the famous verification of acceptance email on Aug 25th, and am still waiting too. I checked my account, and nothing, so you are not alone.
I also received the verification email on Aug 25th WITHOUT a contract. A deposit was made this morning in my checking account from HRSA. I still have not received anything in the mail either. So hang in there everyone that hasn't heard anything yet. I am praying for all of you.
Today I received a deposit in my bank account from HRSA!!!! I could not even believe it- my prayers were answered!! It is so amazing. I received a loan verification email, but never received a contract email and just thought that I would not be getting the award since everyone else got an acceptance email and I did not. For those of you still waiting, do not give up hope, it can still happen. G'luck to all of you, I hope you get!!! fingers crossed.
Well, it looks like this final round of disbursements and award letters died-down with nobody receiving anything today. I've officially given-up hope. Out of curiosity, is there anyone else on this thread that received the loan confirmation and verification of acceptance and did not receive the award? I feel like I'm the only one!! Sad day. Congrats to all of those who got it!
I too only received the acceptance email on 8/25/09 but no funds. My co-worker had applied also for the NELRP, didn't receive the email but received the deposit yesterday from HRSA. For those of you that received don't give up because I called today and was informed that I was approved, signed and awarded funds. Here's what they told me. For those contracts approved on 9/26-9/30. no deposits were made because their coming up to the end of the fiscal year/policy, something like that. Anyway, those approved will receive their deposits for September and October in November. However, the award letters went out today. The HRSA call center rep this morning told me this. of course me being the skeptic wasn't to sure so I called the person that emailed me the acceptance award verification on 8/25/09. Sure enough, she confirmed that I was approved. She congratulated me, told me that the acceptance letters were going out today and that I should be receiving my deposit later. For those of you that are waiting I suggest you give someone at HRSA a call. Everyone that hasn't heard anything don't give up hope. I'm still nervous since I haven't actually seen the funds deposited nor the acceptance letter but the nevertheless I'm esctatic and happy that a higher up from HRSA has informed me that I've been approved. Thank God!
