Nelrp

I am just curious as to what the max. dollar amount is that the NELRP will repay. I understand the 60% for 2 yr. committment and another 25% for third yr. but what is the max. dollar amount? I have looked at the website and I have found nothing about it except the percentage. Other places I have looked have stated up to $15,000 and up to $30,000. Are these two different programs? I also do not understand they have a TON of applicants but I am really curious about the program (private tuition is doing a number on me). Any info. would be greatly appreciated!!!

not a thing here... just more bills on my mailbox!!!!:crying2:

Nothing out here in Maryland. I need to know something..and soon. I have a travel contract that will start on the 13th that I absolutely _must_ take if I don't get this grant. I'm drowning in debt :( :bluecry1:

nothing here either. I just got two bills. Yippie!

Hello,

My wife is a nurse in KY and applied for the NELRP for the first time this year. We too are anxiously awaiting a response. We didn't get a phone call like some. Just wanted to let you all know that you are not alone!!

Hi everyone- I also applied, and am starting to really stress out about this since I haven't heard anything. I applied last year, and got a call sometime in late september asking for a payoff amount (I wasn't eligible anymore because I had switched jobs), but haven't gotten a similar call this year. My ratio is 210%, which I was kind of hoping would be enough but now I am not sure. I left a message with my NELRP representative today (I think her name is Jackie Brown) asking about the status of my application so maybe she can give me a little more information. Does anyone know what any of the last year's recipients' loan/income ratios were? This is really too much suspense for me.....:(

I would think at 210% you would be pretty high up there...Let us know what the rep tells you... Ive been too scared to call... I was hoping theyd update their site, but I guess they lik eto keep up wondering!

Is there anyone out there who was awarded the program last year who can tell me what their debt/income ratio was?

Hey molly,

I applied this year also, but your debt to salary ratio is higher than mine is and is also higher than almost everyone who is writing on this post since we compared ratios earlier in the thread. My ratio is 185% and I received a phone call from them and also and email, but I still have not received a letter. If you are working at a nonprofit hospital you seem like you would be getting selected this year. I love the government. oh yes i do! This is what I keep singing to stop me from going crazy :)

Hey Molly, I am 224%. I too have been awaiting a letter!! Ugh so frustrating! I got a call in early Sept verifying info and havent heard anything since. I am from Indiana and work at a disproportionate share/critical shortage facility. I know some people from my hospital that got it last year and the %'s were all over the place. It really is weird how they pick the recipients. I hope we hear something soon! Good luck everyone!! Kate:heartbeat

I talked to my NELRP rep today, she was super vague of course, and couldn't tell me much, except that they were going to mail the acceptance letters out NEXT week and then the rejection letters out in October. She said not everyone who was going to be accepted got a phone call/email (I don't know why they wouldn't though), and she also said that if you are at a first funding preference facility then they award the money solely by your debt/income ratio. All in all the conversation didn't make me feel any better, and I guess we are all still going to have to stress out at least until next week:(.

Gosh, I am so nervous! I wish we would find out this week!! Jeeeez another week to wait pretty much!! The suspense is such a killer!!! I hope we all get it guys!! I just don't understand why the phone call to verify all of our info and a ph number if we ever changed our info???!!! I mean over 4,000 applicants. Would they call all of those people???!!! Can't wait to just hear something! Kate:heartbeat
