I am just curious as to what the max. dollar amount is that the NELRP will repay. I understand the 60% for 2 yr. committment and another 25% for third yr. but what is the max. dollar amount? I have looked at the website and I have found nothing about it except the percentage. Other places I have looked have stated up to $15,000 and up to $30,000. Are these two different programs? I also do not understand they have a TON of applicants but I am really curious about the program (private tuition is doing a number on me). Any info. would be greatly appreciated!!!
I jusy got off the phone with them and they asked me to verify if I still worked at my place of employment, my bank info, address and phone number. She also asked me if I was still interested in being considered and then she gave me the branch name and number of who I would need to contact if I needed to update any info or discuss changes of employment with. Basically, she did not tell me I was accepted, but kind of implied it. We shall see. They love keeping us in suspense.
oh wow! im so happy for you. it sure sounds like youve been accepted to me!... im keeping my fingers crossed for us.... hopefully my phone shall ring too! hehe!
Did they call you to verify anything when you got accepted or did you jus suddenly get the letter of acceptance?!?!? Im just wondering if I should hang up hopes or not!!
Nope, I never received a call from anyone. I just got the acceptance letter in the mail.
You never know though, they could be doing things differently this year.
Good luck to each one of you!!

Hey everyone, I too applied for the 2008 NELRP assistance. I have been waiting and waiting just like all of you! I also got a call Sept. 2nd asking me to verify all of the same info. I was so anxious and so excited. She just kept saying "SHOULD YOU RECEIVE AN AWARD..." I just hope we get something soon!! I really could use this reimbursement as I am sure you all are in the same boat! Good luck to everyone and I hope we all get it!! I am from INDIANA. Where are you guys from? Kate, RN:heartbeat
Hello Kate,
I am from Mass, but currently live in nyc because I would not be able to afford my loan payments if I moved back to my hometown. I came here for college and have not gotten to leave yet, unfortunately. That phone coversation was quite nerve racking. I really wanted to say "Can't you just give us a straight answer because I doubt you are calling all 5000 applicants?" The HR dept at my hospital keeps asking me if I have heard anything yet (two of us applied this year) and when I told them about the email I received and the phone call they just laughed and said "thats the government for you, no straight answers." :) Well we can really start checking the mail now! Good luck.

Gosh, this is so nerve racking!! I can't sleep at all and I work nights so that's really not good!! We usually have a lot of people from my hospital apply for it which makes it even more nerve racking! I am 224% when you figure the income and loan equation. Just can only hope and pray!! Thanks for the response! I will keep my fingers crossed for us!! I'll keep you updated! Hope we hear something soon!! Kate:redbeathe
