Can anyone give me some tips on how to get an Ambulatory Surgery RN job? I have almost 3 years experience in adult primary care clinic and 5 months of psychiatric in patient. Every listing I see all require experience in PACU, ER, ICU, etc. I'm hoping some place will hire me and train.

Most might require actual operating Room experience.....

All of these do require ICU or PACU or ER experience. Clinic work and psych won't have even touched on the skill level needed to work in this environment unfortunately. Management of airways, assessment and intervention for oversedation, recognition of hypovolemia and how to react and solid skills in intervening in an emergency/cardiac arrest are necessary. You will need to go get the required experience to be a safe practitioner in that environment. Positions in outpatient clinics and psych have pretty much no crossover with outpatient surgery.

Every listing says ER, PACU, or ICU experience required because those are the specialities that have skill sets relevant to the position. Psych and clinic don't have enough skill overlap with what's required for ambulatory surgery because of the airway management needed for those patients (among other things). I would suggest attempting to get a critical care floor position to get some experience then transition over to ambulatory surgery.
