Need help with a gift for my wife graduating nursing school

Nurses General Nursing

Howdy all,

I am totally perplexed with what to get my wife for her graduation which is this Friday. After Mothers Day (I did get her flowers, and other stuff), her b-day was on 3 May. So now I am trying to figure out something that would be really special but at the same time practical and not break the bank.

Any suggestions? I did order her a bracelet from Abernook that is for a nurse and I thought was very nice, pretty and practical. However, her graduation is Friday night at 1900hrs. Should me and the kids show up with flowers for her? Anything else? I don't want to overdo it however I am a hopeless romantic and my wife is not....

A gift certificate to buy some new scrubs would be great, most nursing school scrubs are pretty dorky, a gift certificate for a massage (cause nurses backs are always killing them), a watch would be great; or I'm sure flowers and a bracelet would be great too!

A gift certificate for a massage would be great after nursing school. Somewhere nice, where she can be around people that smell good and pamper HER. Personally, I think a stethoscope is a great idea but IMHO she should get to pick one out. I had a hard time hearing with one style but much luck with another.

I like the diamond stud earrings or even pearls they mark the occassion beautifully and a a beautiful sentiment

But my number one wish would be a day package at the spa, the complete works, very well deserved

Can I just say, first of all, AWWWWWWWWW. Aren't you just a big ole sweetie?;) When I graduated from college, my hubby got me a beautiful Lladro, like this one: http://www.giftcollector.com/product_isapi_m_84-a_84828-p_64630-l_2943-m_Nao-l_Women-store.htm

It is still one of my favorite pieces. I think that if you can find tulips, that would be wonderful. I like roses, but tulips are strong and beautiful...

I think the spa/massage idea is FABULOUS!!! I gift certificate because once she starts working on the floor she is going to feel body parts she forgot about not to mention some major back straining. She needs something "none medical" to give her a break-she will be in head over heels soon enough. By the way, do you think you could talk to my hubby???:lol2: What a sweet guy!! Tell your wife congradulations-this is a true accomplishment.

I'd go with a nice watch. Very important to have one.

I just graduated from nursing school and my husband bought a lei of orchids that I wore to my graduation. He had it shipped in from Hawaii. I'm sure you can get a floral shop to do the same. It probably cost a lot but it was beautiful and made me feel very special. My mom got me a stethoscope with my name on it and I love it. I will be working in the NICU and we cannot wear anything below the elbow, including watches or rings so you might think about where she is going to be working. Good luck and tell your wife congratulations!
