Light years ago, while in nursing school, I responded to a job ad that was posted on our nursing school bulletin board (yes, the bulletin board was the primary means of communication back then - my user name is Old.Timer :):)) An older woman with MS needed someone to do passive ROM in her home several days a week.I shared the job with another student. It was a great way for me to pick up some extra money while getting a bit more experience working with a real patient.
Many years later, I find myself in need of ADL assistance for my elderly mother in her home. I can go the route of an agency etc, but it seems a shame as it could be a great little side job for someone in nursing school, especially since the hours can be flexible.
We have several nursing schools in my area but I'm just not sure how to actually "advertise" or get the job opportunity info to the students. Any suggestions or advice ?? Has anyone ever seen anything similar communicated to students at your school? And......if it seems like a crazy idea and more trouble than it is worth, please feel free to say so.
Thanks so much !
