Near Passing Standard...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Well that was quick, took my nclex on Thursday and on Monday received my failure notice from the BON.

But... I must say it's not really helpful on what I should study. It just says... "near passing standard"

so.... now what.... what direction to I go in??

I am just assuming I never taken boards and starting from the begining on studying....anyone else tired of studying?? I think I am on brain overlad with information that I am totally confusing myself. I have forced myself since Thursday not to pick up a book.... just relax for a week then start studying. But now I feel like I HAVE TO PICK UP MY BOOKS!

I forgot what it's like to enjoy the simple things of life. I feel like I have lost the last 2 years of time with my daughter! She's only 6. And she says, "you always study." It's breaking my heart.

uggggghhhh! Now 45+ more days to wait for my retake!!

I originally applied for Minnesota then I was going to endorse into Florida because i went to Excelsior. Then I got a call from EC to let me know that the govenor signed the bill that allows florida residents to sit for fl boards. I had already paid Minnesota so i went with it. Now that I had failed I might as well apply for florida, so i did on 6/14. I emailed them and they said they have until 7/14 to update my profile. I am frustrated because all the days are going to be taken and I feel like I am not going to get to test when I need too. And in order to keep that job i need to test 7/26. grrrrr....

Shonda, hey i'm going to PM you my personal email.

These "near passing" "bellow passing standards" don't mean too much. There are so many variables evaluated in this test they are simple markings. Instead more meaningful are the number of questions you answered. It does not apply for who passed of course, but if you failed with 75 or you failed with 265 indicates a lot. The bigger the number of questions you got the closer you were to pass. If you answered 265 and didn't pass it means that the computer was struggling in evaluating you and you're close; on the other hand if you failed with less than the maximum of questions it was clear to them that you were not there yet...In other words if you failed with 265 or close to that # you are indeed almost there...just one more push and you'll make it.

I pray so Marcos, because I got all 265 on August the 14th. I will be retesting in November. I was above in one area, low in two, and near passing in the rest.
