Near Passing Standard...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Well that was quick, took my nclex on Thursday and on Monday received my failure notice from the BON.

But... I must say it's not really helpful on what I should study. It just says... "near passing standard"

so.... now what.... what direction to I go in??

I am just assuming I never taken boards and starting from the begining on studying....anyone else tired of studying?? I think I am on brain overlad with information that I am totally confusing myself. I have forced myself since Thursday not to pick up a book.... just relax for a week then start studying. But now I feel like I HAVE TO PICK UP MY BOOKS!

I forgot what it's like to enjoy the simple things of life. I feel like I have lost the last 2 years of time with my daughter! She's only 6. And she says, "you always study." It's breaking my heart.

uggggghhhh! Now 45+ more days to wait for my retake!!

I can test july the 20th, I am half way trough the exam cram book and kaplan stragies book, i keep going in and out with depression feelings with hearing that others pass the nclex and i didn't, but i am trying to keep pushing. I paid for my board application last week and the lady said that if i pay for my actual exam i would get my ATT next week, gotta get that 200.00 first. so I plan to test on the first day I can when i get my ATT to schedule it....

Saturday morning when I got my quick results I paid that day.... 2 days after. I just finished the first chapter in exam cram. I took Saturday off for a mental break but today I pushed myself. I really wish there was more hours in the day. By the time i get home from work it's so hard to focus and I can't studying. So ususally I get up at 4:30 in the AM to get in 2 hours... then off to work. Then after that I'll do another hour in the evening.

Shonda Are you planning on testing right away, on the date you can July 20th!

Yes I plan to test right away, because i tired of feeling worthless lol, and determine now, what about u?

Hey Shonda, I am hoping to retake on right away. It would be awesome to take on July 24th. Best Birthday Present ever! As long as I pass, I will pass though!!

I just hope that day is available at a test site.

Oh and I do take breaks during studying, like I'll do 30 or 45 minutes, then take a 15 minute break for a snack or just to walk around!

Lisa, have you called Pearson to ask them the process for obtaining your ATT to find out if they just send it on the day you are allowed of if there is something you need to do?

Hey lisa

I found this site that may be some help to you? It's slideshare, once on the site type in the search kaplan question trainer, and it has all seven of them. Eventhough the explanation is right under each question it does help? I haven't yet taken the test but and am not sure if the questions are up to the new standards but at least it may help with the format of the questions? I take the test next monday. If you go on will you let me know if the questions are similar, meaning format of nclex! Thanks and good luck!!

for those who got near passing standard, may i ask how many questions you completed on the NCLEX? also, for the "PVT" did you get the "good-pop-up" or did it take you all the way to credit card information? (I know we shouldnt rely on the PVT but we all know it helps alleviate the stress/anxiety of waiting and makes us a bit more hopeful!)

i took all 265 questions and i didnt get many SATA and priority so im scared i didnt pass, but when i tried the PVT i got the good pop-up. so i dont know what to think ...

I only had 117 and failed, and believe me the pvt is true, so congrats

I did ALL 265 exhausting questions!!!!!!!!!!! Did the PVT, got the cc page, and it rings true! Got my fail results 4 days later!

u still keeping ur head up lisa?

hi Lisa1980,

I just took my exam today, got 265 questions, a lot of SATA and prioritization. Is it true that when you get the last question correct then you have the chance that you made it?

I am... working hard, really hard!! taking my breaks though, much needed!

I am doing more questions since i didn't do a whole lot last time. I had to change my new study ways to pass so I am doing more questions and taking side notes here and there on things I can't remember from reading. How are you doing Shonda??
